Putta Laxman, an eminent Indian politician and social activist, currently serving as the AISF State Secretary in Telangana, has developed a remarkable path in his political journey. Beginning with his early engagement with AISF in 2007, Laxman showed a true commitment to grassroots leadership, progressing from Mandal President to District Secretary and further ascending to State Vice President in 2014. His pivotal role as the AISF State Secretary in 2022 showcased his expert leadership skills on a broader scale. Childhood and Education:

Mr. Putta Laxman, born on 10th June 1992, hails from Uppal Depot, Medipally, Medchal Malkajgiri, Telangana. His father, Lingam, and mother, Rohinamma, instilled in him the values of dedication and service.

Putta Laxman successfully completed his SSC from Sri Sarada Vidyamandir High School, Buddanagar, Uppal Depot, in 2007, followed by Intermediate from Silver Jubilee Junior College, Habsiguda in 2009.  He earned his graduation degree from SV Degree College, Ramanthapur, showcasing his dedication to academic excellence. Taking another stride in education, he pursued an MBA at KIET College, Edulabad. Further enhancing his knowledge and skills.  He delved into law and completed his LLB from PMR, Chinthalkunta, LB Nagar.

Early Involvement with AISF (2007-2009)

Mr. Putta Laxman embarked on his political journey in 2007 by joining the All India Students Federation (AISF). In the same year, he took on the responsibility of Mandal President in Ghatkesar, showcasing his early dedication to grassroots leadership.

District Leadership and Growth (2009-2014)

Expanding on his initial experiences, Laxman’s dedication thrived as he took on the position of Medchal District President following the bifurcation of his AISF Joint Rangareddy District President role. Throughout the years, he advanced within the organization, ascending to the role of District Secretary in Medchal in 2014, showcasing his adept leadership skills at the grassroots level.

Ascension to State Leadership (2014-2022)

Laxman’s journey continued to ascend, earning the position of AISF State Vice President in 2014. His vision and capabilities propelled him further, ultimately leading to his appointment as the AISF State Secretary in 2022, solidifying his impact on a broader scale within the organisation.

National Recognition and Influence (2023)

In 2023, Putta Laxman achieved national prominence by becoming a crucial member of the AISF National Executive Committee. His role in the national landscape reflects his personal growth and his dedication to the larger political narrative.

In 2014, Putta Laxman took a significant step in his political journey by independently contesting for the Uppal Depot MPTC position. This move underscored his unwavering commitment to grassroots representation, a theme that has remained central to his political philosophy.

Continuing the Quest in 2020: Aspiring to Serve as 9th Ward Corporator

The political journey of Putta Laxman didn’t halt in 2014; instead, it gained momentum in 2020. This time, he aimed for the role of 9th Ward Corporator in the Municipal Corporation Peerzadiguda. This strategic move demonstrated his persistent dedication to community service and governance at the local level.

PUTTA LAXMAN’S IMPACTFUL STANDS IN PROTESTS AND DHARNAS

• CPI State Secretary Koonanneni Sambasivarao and AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman voiced their support for the AISF, SFI, PDSU student unions protesting at Osmania University Arts College. They demanded transparency in filling TSPSC posts and the removal of the TSPSC chairman for an inquiry into examination paper leaks.
• AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman, along with student leaders were unlawfully arrested during Putta Laxman’s Pragati Bhavan siege, demanding KCR’s response to the AISF State Council’s call for the removal of the TSPSC Chairman as the Chairman’s actions impacting the unemployed were a central concern.
• Putta Laxman actively participated in Rasta Roko at Uppal Depot, urging the Telangana government to take over institutions like Sri Chaitanya, Narayana, and Corporate Educational Institutions. This move aimed to address the concerning issue of student suicides within these institutions.
• Following the tragic suicide of a student named Satvik at Sri Chaitanya Institution, Putta Laxman led a protest against corporate educational institutions, demanding the cancellation of their recognition. His arrest by the police underscored the intensity of the agitation.
• AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman, under the AISF State Council, burned an effigy of “Raging Ghosth” at Himayat Nagar Y Junction, demanding severe punishment for those accused in a case related to a suicidal love.
• In response to budget allocation concerns, an effigy was burnt in front at the statue of Ambedkar in Ghatkesar. The protest aimed to express dissatisfaction with the allocated budget.
• Putta Laxman, as the chief guest in a press conference organized by the Osmania University Council, demanded adequate funds for the university’s development according to the Kothari Commission for Education. He emphasized the need for the government to fulfill its promises.
• AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman called for a “Siege of Chalo DGP Office,” demanding justice for SI and Constable candidates and equal opportunities for all main exam candidates. The subsequent police arrests highlighted the ongoing struggles faced by those seeking justice.
• Putta Laxman burned a “Modi effigy” at Himayat Nagar Circle, following the AISF National Council’s call to unconditionally withdraw the central government’s decision to cancel scholarships for minority research students pursuing MPhil and PhD in the name of Maulana Azad.
• AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman besieged the Rangareddy District Collector’s office in Kongarakalan to solve the educational problems under the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) Rangareddy District Committee.
• During a call for a siege of Raj Bhavan demanding the abolition of the governor system, AISF leaders faced police interference, resulting in injuries to several student leaders and the arrest of about 70 individuals. The incident highlighted the challenges faced by those advocating for systemic changes.
• AISF State Secretary, Putta Laxman, alongside student leaders, conducted a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, urging the implementation of Telangana Partition Guarantee Acts. The demonstration also voiced concerns over the Modi government’s approach toward Telangana, criticizing what was perceived as circular behavior.
• Under the banner of AISF, Putta Laxman organized a “Parliament March” in Delhi, demanding the cancellation of the new national education system and advocating for the implementation of the Bhagat Singh National Employment Guarantee Act to benefit the youth.
  Putta Laxman, in his capacity as AISF State Secretary, organized a demonstration at the Rangareddy District Collector’s office to address educational problems. This initiative fell under the purview of the AISF Rangareddy District Committee.
• Putta Laxman, as AISF State Secretary, led a protest with black flags at OU Arts College against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Telangana. The protest aimed to highlight perceived injustices against states’ rights.
• AISF State Secretary, Putta Laxman, undertook a siege with key demands, including the reduction of engineering fees, uniform fees in private engineering colleges, government-led counseling for “B” category seats, abolition of private universities, and protection of university autonomy.
• AISF Telangana State General Secretary, Putta Laxman, and other leaders actively participated in the Bharat Bandh program, contributing to its success.
• AISF State President and Secretary, Kasireddy Manikantha Reddy and Putta Laxman, organized a siege of the Higher Education Council office, demanding a reduction in increased engineering fees across the state.
• A protest was organized in front of a college, demanding a thorough inquiry into the death of a student named Lavanya from Princeton College and seeking justice for her family.
• Putta Laxman and other AISF leaders held a dharna, protesting against Prapul Patel, whom they accused of depriving the people of Lakshadweep of their freedom.
• Under AISF auspices, a Rastra Roko was organized on the Uppal Depot National Highway as part of the Bharat Bandh, opposing the three farmer laws and protesting against the privatization of public sector enterprises.
• On the 90th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, and Sukhadev, a “Kagadala Rally” was organized from Uppal Depot to Medipalli by the Medchal District AISF Committee.
• AISF, expressing concern over the Telangana government’s delay in university appointments and insufficient funding, staged a protest that resulted in the arrest of Putta Laxman, highlighting issues in the state budget allocation for the education sector.
• A bike rally from Warangal to Khajipet was organized to support the MLC candidate “B. Jayasaradhi Reddy,” strengthened by the left parties of Warangal, Khammam, Nalgonda, and Pattabhadru.
• A dharna was organized by AISF in front of “Vision B. Pharmacy” college in Medchal district, seeking an investigation and cancellation of the college’s recognition for alleged irregularities in conducting Kakatiya University Distance Education Exams. The protest aimed to address concerns about the collection of money from students and potential malpractices during examinations.
• AISF Medchal District Committee organized a candlelight vigil demanding justice for Manisha Valmiki, a 19-year-old Dalit girl who was brutally raped and tortured.
• Students besieged the Board of Higher Education, demanding punishment for irregularities in not assigning ranks to 9006 intermediate students in MSET.
• AISF organized a protest at OU, demanding a resolution be passed in the Assembly and sent to the President protesting the Rythu Bill similar to the Haryana-style agitation.
• AISF organized a protest in front of the Boduppal Ambedkar statue, demanding a comprehensive inquiry into a rape case.
• AISF, along with SFI, organized a Rasta Roko on the Ghatkesar National Highway, condemning an incident in the Ghatkesar area. An effigy of “Kamandhu” was burnt to express dissent.
• Samyukta Kisan Morcha called for a nationwide “Chakka Jam” against anti-farmer laws. The Warangal National Highway witnessed a blockade at Uppal Depot Dharna Chowk as part of this protest.
• AISF Medchal District Committee organized a “Protest” demanding the immediate removal of Shri. Chamakura Mallareddy from the Council of Ministers due to alleged submission of fake certificates.
• AISF State Committee organized a protest in front of the Reliance Brand Factory in Himayat Nagar, advocating the boycott of Reliance products to support farmers against corporate exploitation.
• AISF Medchal District Committee organized a Rasta Roko on the Warangal National Highway under the All India Student Federation’s auspices in support of the nationwide “Bharat Bandh” called by the All India Peasant Struggle Coordination Committee.

AISF INITIATIVES AND ADVOCACY IN TELANGANA UNDER RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP

• Under the guidance of the AISF Nizamabad District Committee, a conference on “Secularism Preservation” was organized by AISF State Secretary Putta Laxman at the local press club.
• AISF State President Manikantha Reddy and Secretary Putta Laxman attended the final match of the “Bhagat Singh Cricket Tournament” in Moinabad, hosted by AISF and AIYF Rangareddy District Committees. The winning team received prizes in recognition of their achievements.
• AISF Nalgonda District Council meeting took place in Nalgonda town at Makhdum Bhavan. Telangana State Chief Secretary Putta Laxman was the chief guest, addressing the gathering and discussing future student movements.
• AISF State President Kasireddy Manikantha Reddy and Secretary Putta Laxman expressed concerns about the BJP government at the center, accusing it of neglecting the constitution written by Baba Saheb Ambedkar and undermining constitutional rights.
• Participating in the Sangam District Office Bearers’ meeting in Nalgonda town, leaders emphasized the central government’s responsibilities, urging the establishment of Central Vidyalayas, Navodaya Educational Institutions, Medical Colleges, IIMs, Kajipet Coach Factory, and Bayyaram Steel Industry.
• Following the by-election victory of BRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy, supported by CPI and CPM, leaders of AISF and BRS held a joint victory rally, celebrating with pot-breaking, sweets, and greetings.
• Akhila Bharat Vidyarthi Samakhya state team campaigned in Chandur, Marrigudem, and Sansthan Narayanapuram areas during the previous by-elections, expressing support for BRS candidate Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy backed by CPI and CPM.
• AISF Telangana State Council commemorated the 115th birth anniversary of Sardar Bhagat Singh at Hyderabad Makhdoom Bhavan. CPI national executive members Chada Venkata Reddy and CPI State Secretary Koonanneni initiated a blood donation camp and conducted a ceremony including the release of 115 red and white balloons.
• Minister Chamakura Mallareddy joined in the submission of a petition addressing the problems of students, youth, and the public. The request aimed to bring these issues to the Chief Minister’s attention for resolution.
• The AISF Ghatkesar Mandal 3rd Mahasabha took place at Sri Chaitanya College, Ghatkesar. The election of the mandal committee occurred in the presence of AISF District Construction Officer E. Uma Mahesh.
• AISF Medchal District Committee conducted a house-to-house campaign to support the election of the Communist Party of India candidate “E. Mahesh Yadav” in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Elections.
• On the 85th anniversary of AISF, a sapling program was organized district-wide. Saplings were planted in government educational institutions under the jurisdiction of Janta Municipal Corporation in Medipalli mandal.
• A petition was submitted to Telangana Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy by AISF, urging the cessation of fee exploitation by corporate educational institutions and the cancellation of examination fees for tenth class and intermediate students.
• The “All India Farmer Coordination Committee” initiated an indefinite agitation at Indira Park, demanding the repeal of pro-corporate agricultural laws, withdrawal of the Electricity Amendment Act, and enactment of the Minimum Support Price Guarantee Act.
• On the occasion of the 85th foundation day, the Akhil Bharat Vidyarthi Samakhya Medchal district committee organized a flag unveiling program in front of the local Uppal Depot AISF office. Shweta Aruna’s flag was hoisted during the ceremony, and the Chief Guest was AISF Telangana State General Secretary.
• In opposition to the “New Education Policy 2020” Bill introduced by the Central Government, copies of the bill were publicly burned in front of OU Arts College. The state committees of the Left Student Unions led this protest against the policy.
• Student unions, including AISF, SFI, PDSU, and AIDSO, advocated for the postponement of July entrance exams due to the pandemic. They also supported the promotion of final year students without conducting exams. In Narayanaguda square, an effigy of the government was burned in solidarity with this cause.
• AISF Telangana State General Secretary, Putta Laxman , visited a village school as the chief guest on Republic Day. He hoisted the national flag and delivered an inspiring speech to mark the occasion.
• In a display of community support, financial contributions were made for election campaigns. Ramesh a fitness trainer, received 10,000 rupees, while Balayya provided 5,000 rupees. Additionally, Zakir the head of True Post channel, contributed 5,000 rupees for election campaign expenses.

ADDRESSING EDUCATIONAL CONCERNS AND PROMOTING PUBLIC HEALTH INITIATIVES DURING PANDEMIC:

• During the challenging COVID-19 period, Laxman exemplified true leadership by working tirelessly for 38 days. 
• He provided essential supplies, conducted Annadanam, distributed masks and sanitisers, organised blood donation camps, and ensured health camps for the well-being of the people.
• The release of examination results faced delays attributed to the postponement of final year exams during the previous academic year (2021-2022) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This delay has raised concerns, particularly for students in certain courses who risk losing eligibility for applying to the Junior Lecturer positions. AISF Telangana State Secretary, Putta Laxman, has advocated for the rights of these students, demanding that they be given a fair opportunity. A petition addressing these concerns has been submitted to Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Secretary, Anita Ramachandran, urging a thorough examination of the issues and equitable resolutions for all candidates involved.
• In response to the call from the AISF National Council to provide free COVID-19 vaccines to all citizens, protest programs were systematically organized in various regions. These initiatives reflect the collective effort to advocate for accessible healthcare and ensure the well-being of the entire population. The AISF, under the guidance of its National Council, continues to engage in activities aimed at addressing crucial societal issues, such as health and education, for the benefit of the nation.
• Under the auspices of Medchal District AISF, essential goods were distributed to 80 families severely affected by the lockdown. This initiative took place in the jurisdiction of Peerzadiguda Municipal Corporation, with the participation of Malkajgiri ACP Narsimha Reddy, Medipalli CI Anjireddy, and local corporator Raju.
