Dr. G. Samatha – Accomplished Ophthalmologist & Dynamic Social Leader

Dr. G. Samatha, an Ophthalmologist by profession and a dedicated social and political worker. Born on 20th December 1979 in Barkatpura, Hyderabad, I have always believed in serving society with sincerity and compassion. With strong academic roots and advanced training in eye care from prestigious institutions across India and abroad, I have had the privilege of providing free eye treatment to nearly 2 lakh people from Hyderabad to Karimnagar.

In 2014, I joined the Bharatiya Janata Party with a deep desire to serve the people and contribute to nation-building. Since then, I have been actively working as a committed party worker. I currently serve as the Joint Convener of BJP Telangana State Medical Cell and as State Incharge for Policy Making Research in Mahila Morcha. I am also the General Secretary of All India Padmashali Doctors Association.

My journey has been driven by the vision of uniting the Padmashali community and empowering them socially and politically. Through various health camps, community development programs, women and youth empowerment initiatives, and welfare activities, I have always strived to uplift the weaker sections of society.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked tirelessly by providing medical services, medicines, financial help to Black Fungus patients, and essential supplies to the needy. I firmly believe that true service is the highest form of worship.

Childhood and Educational Journey

Dr. G. Samatha was born on December 20, 1979, in Barkatpura village of Hyderabad, Telangana. She grew up in a modest environment that instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication from an early age.

Her formal education began at Vivekananda Residential School in Karimnagar, where she completed her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1995. She then pursued her two-year Intermediate course at Government Girls College, Karimnagar, and successfully completed it in 1997.

Driven by a strong passion for medicine, Dr. Samatha worked hard and earned her MBBS degree in 2005. She further specialized in the field of eye care and successfully completed her MS in Ophthalmology. Her consistent dedication and academic excellence laid a strong foundation for her distinguished career as an ophthalmologist.

Advanced Training and Fellowships

In 2008, Dr. G. Samatha took a significant step in her professional journey by joining a prestigious fellowship program at the renowned LV Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad. This training helped her gain advanced skills and practical experience in the field of ophthalmology. It marked the beginning of her extensive super-specialty training.

She then pursued a highly specialized fellowship in the Anterior Segment at Shankar Nethralaya in Chennai. This program allowed her to deepen her knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of complex anterior segment disorders of the eye. It further strengthened her surgical expertise and clinical acumen.

Dr. Samatha also completed fellowships at the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospitals in both Madurai and Coimbatore. These trainings provided her with world-class exposure to high-volume eye care and advanced surgical techniques. The experience at these renowned institutions enriched her skills and confidence as an eye surgeon.

Her quest for excellence took her abroad to Mahidol University in Thailand, where she successfully completed another fellowship program. This international exposure gave her valuable insights into global standards of ophthalmic care. It broadened her perspective and enhanced her professional capabilities.

Additionally, Dr. Samatha completed a fellowship in Hospital Management and Administration at Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai. This training equipped her with essential leadership and administrative skills to efficiently manage eye care institutions. It helped her combine clinical excellence with effective healthcare management.

Entry into Politics and Association with BJP

In 2014, Dr. G. Samatha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a strong desire to serve the people and bring positive change in society. Motivated by the party’s ideology and vision for development, she took an active role in politics. Her entry into the BJP marked the beginning of her journey as a committed political worker.

She quickly rose through the ranks due to her sincerity, hard work, and dedication. Dr. Samatha established herself as a reliable and energetic party activist. She has been working tirelessly to promote the BJP’s principles and programs at the grassroots level.

Dr. Samatha shows a genuine and deep interest in party activities. She participates proactively in all programs and initiatives organized by the party. With a strong sense of discipline and responsibility, she carries out her duties effectively, contributing significantly to the party’s growth and public outreach.

As a Member of BJP Medical Cell and BJP State Medical Cell Joint Convener:

In 2014, as a Member of the BJP Medical Cell, Samatha consistently displayed her commitment to the party’s objectives and vision. Her unwavering dedication was recognized, and she earned the prestigious nomination as the BJP State Medical Cell Joint Convener for Telangana in 2021. In this role, she conscientiously emphasized the importance of widespread and efficient outreach to the public, advocating for a comprehensive and effective expansion strategy.

As a Mahila Morcha State Incharge for Policy Making Research:

In 2022, Samatha earned the people’s trust and was elected as the Mahila Morcha State Incharge for Policy Making Research from BJP. Through his unwavering commitment to the betterment of society, he has served with integrity and fully adhered to a strict code of conduct.

BJP State Mahila Morcha General Secretary (2024)

In 2024, recognizing her strong leadership, organizational skills, and unwavering commitment, Dr. G. Samatha was appointed as the State General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha, Telangana. In this key role, she has been actively working towards women’s empowerment, grassroots mobilization, and strengthening the party’s outreach among women across the state. Her dynamic leadership has significantly boosted the activities and visibility of the Mahila Morcha.

BJP State Official Spokesperson (2026)

In 2026, Dr. G. Samatha was elevated to the prestigious position of BJP State Official Spokesperson for Telangana. With her clear communication, articulate voice, and deep understanding of party policies, she effectively represents the Bharatiya Janata Party on various public platforms and media channels. In this role, she continues to articulate the party’s vision and initiatives with clarity and conviction.

Leadership in All India Padmashali Doctors Association

In 2023, Dr. G. Samatha joined the All India Padmashali Doctors Association and began her active journey with the organization. Through her sincere and dedicated service, she quickly earned the trust and respect of the members. Her commitment towards community welfare and professional excellence stood out from the beginning.

Recognizing her hard work and leadership qualities, she was soon appointed as the General Secretary of the All India Padmashali Doctors Association. In this important position, Dr. Samatha has been working tirelessly to strengthen the association and serve the Padmashali community. She continues to play a key role in uniting doctors from the community and promoting their welfare.

Under her leadership, many members of the Padmashali Doctors Association were successfully brought into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The main aim was to bring the entire Padmashali community together under one strong platform and empower them both socially and politically.

National and International Contributions

In 2015, Dr. G. Samatha represented India in the prestigious Google AI Project on Diabetic Eye Care and Eye Diseases. She actively participated in important initiatives in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO). Her contribution helped highlight India’s efforts in preventing and managing diabetic eye complications using advanced technology.

In 2022, Dr. Samatha represented India at the Asian Youth Summit. As a delegate, she shared valuable insights and engaged in meaningful discussions on youth empowerment and development. This platform gave her an opportunity to showcase India’s perspective on global issues at an Asian level.

She also played an active role in the Indigenous Ventilator Manufacturing initiative in India. Additionally, Dr. Samatha prepared and presented a major social project focused on indigenous medical equipment for the pharmaceutical and drug industry. Her efforts strongly supported the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the healthcare sector.

SOCIAL AND WELFARE ACTIVITIES:

• Samatha has undertaken a series of commendable activities to uplift the community and enhance the well-being of the people.
• Samatha has spearheaded various community development projects aimed at improving the village’s infrastructure also includes initiatives like road repairs, street lighting installations, and the establishment of community centers and recreational spaces.
• Recognizing the importance of good health and hygiene, Samatha has organized health camps and awareness programs on various health issues.
• Samatha has been actively involved in empowering women and youth through skill development programs, vocational training, and capacity-building workshops. By encouraging self-reliance, he has helped create new opportunities for personal and economic growth.
• She has demonstrated a strong dedication to the welfare of vulnerable sections of society. She has organized distribution drives for essentials like food, clothing, and blankets during times of crisis by ensuring that no one is left behind.
• Samatha has played a pivotal role in promoting the village’s cultural heritage and fostering a sense of unity among its residents. Festivals, cultural events, and social gatherings have been organized to celebrate diversity and strengthen community bonds.
• Samatha introduced all of the Padmashali members to the BJP party, aiming to unify them under a single banner.
• Samatha gave free eye treatment to nearly 2 lakh people from Hyderabad to Karimnagar.

PANDEMIC ACTIVITIES:

• During the Carona Period along with Medical Services, Vaccination, She served money to the people who are infected with Black Fungus.
• During the COVID-19 pandemic, Samatha played an active role in helping the people in his constituency. She took part in various activities, such as distributing masks and sanitizers and providing food, vegetables, and medicine to the needy.
• She also organized campaigns to create awareness about the importance of social distancing, maintaining hygiene, and boosting immunity to fight against the virus.
• Understanding the challenges faced by many individuals and families during the pandemic, Samatha recognized the importance of ensuring access to basic necessities.
• She organized and led initiatives to distribute food items to the underprivileged sections of society who were severely impacted by the economic consequences of the pandemic. This included arranging for the delivery of essential food packages and groceries to households facing financial difficulties, enabling them to meet their daily needs.
• Samatha’s dedication to supporting people during the COVID-19 pandemic extended beyond the provision of essential supplies.
• She actively engaged with communities, raising awareness about precautionary measures and promoting vaccination drives. By educating people about the importance of vaccinations and dispelling myths and misinformation, she contributed to the overall efforts of combating the pandemic.
