Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu is the Member of the Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Visakhapatnam East Constituency from the TDP.

He was born in 1961 to Brahmeswara Rao. He has completed B.Sc.(Agriculture) Degree from Gorakhpur University in 1981.

He started his political journey with the Telugu Desam Party(TDP). In 2009, He elected as MLA of the Visakhapatnam East Assembly constituency with the highest majority of 44,233 votes from the TDP.

In 2014, He again won the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Visakhapatnam East with the highest majority of 100,624 votes.

In 2019, Ramakrishna elected for the third time as a Member of the Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Visakhapatnam East with the highest majority of 87,073 votes from the TDP.

Recent Activities:

  • Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu handed over essential items to the villagers who were facing financial problems in the case of lockdown due to coronavirus.
  •  Ramakrishna Babu, who went on a hunger strike, demanded that the government provide financial assistance to every poor family who lost their jobs due to the lockdown
  • Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu distributed books to the students. Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu participated in the charity event.
  • TDP leaders Kalla Shankar and Kalla Lalitha Garu distributed masks and homeopathic medicines to the villagers under the patronage of MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu Gari in the GVMC 17th ward.
