Tankala Vykuntam is the Social Activist from Kancharam village, Rajam Mandal, Srikakulam district. He was born on 15th July 1993 to the couple Ramakrishna and Adhil Lakshmi in Kancharam village.
Education Background:
In 2008, Vykuntam earned his Board of Secondary Education at Geetanjali Vidyalayam, Rajam. He completed ITI from Govt ITI college, Rajam. From 2012-2015, he did Diploma in Civil Engineering at Sri Venkateswara Engineering College, Srikakulam.
Social Activities
- The village youth handed over a petition in Collector Grievances to improve the Kancharam main road. Elukala Satyanarayana and Vykuntam from the village reached the Collector’s office and explained the condition of the road to the Collector.
- Kancharam village people Venkata Ramana and Ramesh, Tankala Vykuntam protested innovatively. The road leading to some villages in the Rajam zone is bad and there are ditches that make it impassable. Villagers protested by putting Vari Naatlu on the road demanding immediate action by the authorities on the issue.
- YSRCP leaders demanded that hundreds of students from other parts of the country come and go to study in the thriving town of Rajam, but that there were no buses to get to school and that adequate buses should be provided immediately.
- The students staged a dharna to set up a bus shelter at Pogiri junction in the zone.
Activities being Social Activist:
-Vykuntam constantly fought over farmers, students, common people issues. He assured the people that he was there for them in any situation.
-He has been organized the Annadanam program in the orphanage and old age homes.
-Vykuntam and YSRCP leaders and staged a Dharna and demanded a reduction of petrol and diesel prices hiked by the government.
-He made movements have called on the government to support those who lost their homes in the fire accident.
-Vykuntam along with YSRCP leaders has been conducted blood donation camps.
-He took part in the Haritha Haram program and planted plants in the premises of Kancharam.
-He organized awareness programs on “The cleanliness of the surroundings” for the students also provided stationery things, ID cards, Clothes for them.
-He has been distributing clothes, food to the Orphanage people on the occasion of his birthday every year.
Pandemic Services:
-Vykuntam rendered his service to the people of Kancharam village even during the corona which terrorized the whole country.
-He distributed food and rice bags to the migrants and also contributed to them financially.
-He donates rice bags, vegetables, and medicine to covid victims who are suffering from covid and cannot go out to fetch food.
-He also supported the poor financially by providing essential goods for those who could not find employment or food due to the lockdown.
-Provided annadhanam program to the Police, Municipal, front-line workers who served a lot during the corona crisis.
-Conducted awareness programs on the maintenance of Physical distance and following precautionary measures to prevent the epidemic in Corona.
-Vykuntam also put his effort during the covid second wave.
-He distributed vegetables and fruits to the village people and needy people.
-Awareness camps and seminars were organized on the Covid-19 vaccine and about the effects of the virus.
-Organized awareness programs on precautions to be taken to prevent covid and said no need to panic.
-The area infected with the coronavirus has been declared a red zone and people have been given proper precautions and instructions.
Personal Life:
Ayyappa Swamy has been revered in the Vykuntam family for generations. He took 8 times Ayyappa Dhiksha considering Ayyappa Swamy as his favorite deity. Vykuntam’s uncle Tankala Papi Naidu served as ZPTC from 2014-2019. He built the Ayyappa Swamy temple due to his devotion. Papi Naidu built the temple with his own money without taking any donations. Vykuntam is the Papi Naidu’s elder brother’s son.
Former ZPTC Papi Naidu has established the Ayyappa Swamy Temple on 28-02-2008 and it is still 14 years since the temple was established. As the trustee of the temple, Vykuntam’s uncle has been conducting Annadhanam programs for Ayyappa Swamy’s for 41 days in the month of Kartika Masam every year.
