Raj Kumar Singh is the Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. He was born on 20-December-1952 to Haldhar Prasad Singh and Chandrakala Devi in Supaul, Bihar. He attained Diploma in Management, completed LLB also completed his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. He married Shiela Singh and they have a son and a daughter.
In 2014, He was a Member of the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (NPDRR). Raj Kumar Singh was elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Arrah constituency by defeating Sribhagwan Singh Kushwaha of RJD with a margin of 255,204 votes. He was the Member of Committee of Privileges, Member of Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare, Member of Consultative Committee under the Ministry of Defence, Member of Committee on Violation of Protocol Norms and Contemptuous Behaviour of Government Officers with Members of Lok Sabha. He became a Member of the India China Parliamentary Friendship Group in 2015.
In 2015, He served as Member of the Joint Committee on Security in Parliament House Complex, Member of The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Standing Committee on International Peace and Security. He worked as a Member of the Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice in 2016. In 2019, He contested and won the Arrah parliamentary constituency with a margin of over 5,00000 votes. Raj Kumar was appointed as MoS(independent charge) of the ministry of power; MoS (independent charge) of the ministry of new and renewable energy and the Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneur development.
Played a Key Role:
- He was the district magistrate in East Champaran and Patna in the 1980s before joining the state home department in 1997. During the Nitish Kumar government’s term from 2004–2009, Singh, as principal secretary in the road construction department, played an important role in improving the condition of roads in Bihar.
