Peddi Reddy Ramachandra Reddy was the Member of the Legislative Assembly(MLA) of Punganur Constituency from the YSRCP party. He was born in 1954 to Peddi Reddy Lakshmana Reddy(Late). He has completed an M.A. He has completed a Ph.D. from Sri Venkateswara University, in 1975. Basically, he hails from an Agricultural family. He had his own Business. His son P.V. Mithun Reddy is the MP of Rajampet in 2014 and in 2019 and his brother Dwaraka Nath Reddy is the MLA of Thamballaplle constituency.

In 1974, He was selected as President of the Student Union in SVU, Thirupathi. In 1978, he contested as MLA on a BJP ticket from the Pileru constituency but he lost. He joined the Indian National Congress(INC) party and he again lost in 1985, AP assembly elections from the Congress party. He was elected thrice as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from the Pileru constituency from the Congress party. From 1995, he worked as District President for 9 years from the Congress party. In 2008, He was appointed as Vice President of the PCC. From 2009-2010, He served as Minister of Forest in Y.S Rajashekar Reddy, Roshaiah’s Cabinet.

In 2009, in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections, he was won the position of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from Punganur constituency of the Congress party. He joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP). From 2015, he working as State Chief Secretary from the YSRCP party.

He was a Senior Leader of the YSRCP party. In 2014, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections, he was elected as  Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) with the highest majority of 1,04,587 votes from the YSRCP party. In 2019,  he was won the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) with the highest majority of 1,07,431 votes from the YSRCP party.  In 2019, He was appointed as Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development.
