My political journey began in 1994 when I joined the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). This decision was fueled by my desire to serve my community and contribute to its growth. My family’s values of leadership and service greatly influenced me. Starting with grassroots involvement in the party helped me understand the complexities of politics and set the stage for my future roles.
In 1995, I was elected as the Sarpanch of Balemla Village, where I served until 2001. This role was pivotal in my career, allowing me to improve local infrastructure, education, and healthcare. My work at Sarpanch strengthened my reputation as a dedicated leader. Following this, in 2000, I became the Mandal Party President for Suryapet Rural Mandal, a position I held for twelve years. I worked tirelessly to bolster the TDP’s presence and build grassroots support in the region.
In 2001, I was elected as the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) representative for Balemla, focusing on agricultural support and rural development. My work earned me respect and admiration. By 2012, I was appointed as the Constituency Incharge for Suryapet, and in 2014, I contested the Legislative Assembly elections. Despite challenges, my campaign emphasized development and transparency.
In 2016, I became the District President of the TDP for Suryapet, a role in which I further strengthened the party’s organizational structure. In 2017, I joined the Indian National Congress (INC), marking a significant shift in my political career. My induction into the INC was supported by Rahul Gandhi, and I was guided by Mr. Revanth Reddy’s vision for a progressive Telangana. I was appointed TPCC Secretary in 2018 and later became TPCC General Secretary in 2022.
Currently, I serve as the Chairman of the State Tourism Development Corporation in Telangana, where I work to boost tourism and promote the state’s cultural heritage. My strategic leadership in various electoral campaigns, including digital membership drives and by-elections, highlights my commitment to effective political engagement. I am also dedicated to enhancing literacy and community welfare through various initiatives, including establishing orphanages, building educational facilities, and organizing health camps.

Born on May 31, 1970, in Balemla village, Suryapet Mandal and District, Patel Ramesh Reddy is the youngest child of Dr. Patel Somi Reddy and Smt. Lalitha. Married to Lavanya Patel, who is also active in politics, they are blessed with two daughters, Meghana and Manvi.
Dr. Patel Somi Reddy, a dedicated doctor and passionate farmer, has always been a guiding figure. Smt. Lalitha, a caring and respected woman, is looked up to by the village women for advice and support. Patel Sridhar Reddy, the elder brother of Patel Ramesh Reddy, is an NRI technologist, philanthropist, and founder of SPREAD INDIA, an NGO dedicated to providing education for orphans and children from underprivileged communities.
Patel Ramesh Reddy was a bright student from the beginning and later pursued Mechanical Engineering at Osmania University.
