Pamidi Samanthakamani

Pamidi Samanthakamani is a Member of the Legislative Council(MLC) from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. She was born on 25-06-1946 to P.Moses and J. Lillypusupamma in Guthi, Anantapur.  She completed her Graduate BSc. from K.V.R. Govt College for Women, Kurnool from 1962-1965. She married Dr.B.Balanna.

She started her political journey with the Indian National Congress Party (INC). She has founded Udayadri Mahila Mandali and was the Honorable president of Udayadadri Mahila Mandali in Udayagiri. She worked as Lions Club Secretary from Kadapa and Awarded as Best Social Worker. In 1980, She worked as the General Secretary of the Congress Committee in Anantapur Dist.

From 1989-1991, she served as Minister of Secondary Education and Women’s and Child Welfare. Later on, She joined the Telugu Desam Party. Samanthakamani is a Senior Leader in TDP. Chandrababu was given the chance for her daughter Yamini Bala in 2014. But by 2019 the whole scene has changed and the Singanamala constituency candidate has been replaced with the advice of former MP JC Diwakar Reddy and district leaders. Despite Samanthakamani’s effort, Yamini Bala was not given tickets due to political equations.

In 2019, She was elected as a Member of the Legislative Council(MLC) from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. Samanthakamani joined the YSRCP in the presence of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. She is the Chairman of Subordinate, Andhra Pradesh.

Social Activities:

• The families of those killed in the fire were provided with rice, Clothes, and cooking utensils under the Lion club Association and Conduct the Medical Camps through the Lions Club association
• Distributed many kits like Essential things, Masks, and sanitizer in most of the villages of Anantapur during the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown period, and he was Provided food & vegetables to Poor people in lockdown time.
• Awareness was created on how to practice social distance.
• Donated Safety kits to frontline workers in Anantapur.
• Street lights were set up, Sand roads were paved in the villages and the village was sprayed with sodium hypochlorite solution.
