Owaisi Asaduddin

Owaisi Asaduddin is the Member of Parliament(MP) to the 17th Lok Sabha from Hyderabad constituency of Telangana. He was born on 13-May-1969 to Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi and Najmunnisa Begum. He completed his graduation in Bachelor of Arts from Nizam College(Osmania University) in Hyderabad.

he moved to London for higher studies. He studied Bachelor of Laws and Barrister-at-Law at Lincoln’s Inn of London. He was an Advocate. He represented the South Zone inter-university U-25s cricket team as a fast bowler in the Vizzy Trophy in 1994 and later got selected in the South Zone university team. He married Farheen Owaisi.

Owaisi Asaduddin was born in a Sunni Muslim family. His grandfather Abdul Wahid Owaisi relaunched the political party Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen as All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen on 18-September-1957. His father Sultan Salahuddin was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1962.

He also elected to the Indian Parliament from the Hyderabad constituency for the first time in 1984 and continued winning the elections till 2004. His brother Akbaruddin Owaisi is a Member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly(MLA) and heads the party in it. His youngest brother Burhanuddin Owaisi is the Editor of Etemaad.

In 1994, in Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from Charminar Constituency from the MIM party. He joined the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party from the same constituency in 1999, Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from the AIMIM party.

In 2004, He was elected as Member of Parliament(MP) to 14th Lok Sabha from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Telangana. From 2004-2006, he was the Member of the Committee on Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme. He was a Member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment. From 2006-2007, He served as a Member of the Standing Committee on Defence.

In 2009, He Re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha of Hyderabad constituency, as a Member of Parliament(MP). He was the Leader, All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen Parliamentary Party, Lok Sabha. He was the Member of the Standing Committee on Defence, and also the Member of, Committee on Ethics. In 2014, He Re-elected as Member of Parliament(MP) to 16th Lok Sabha from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency, Telangana.

Owaisi Asaduddin is the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM). From 2014-2019, he served as the Member of the Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment. He was a Member of the Consultative Committee and served in the Ministry of Minority Affairs. In 2019, He Re-elected to the 17th Lok Sabha of Hyderabad constituency, as a Member of Parliament(MP) with a margin of 5,17,471 votes from the AIMIM party.

He was a Member of the Standing Committee on Science & Technology, Environment & Forests. He served as a Member of the Consultative Committee, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. He was the Chairman, Dar-Us-Salam Trust, and Education Board, since 1999 and Member, Muslim Personal Law, since 2001.
