Nara Sravan Kumar is an Indian Politician, Social Activist, and DHPS State General Secretary of Telangana.
CHILDHOOD AND EDUCATION:
On the 28th of February 1986, Narra Sravan Kumar was born to the couple Mr Nara Kanthaiah and Mrs Nara Upendra and raised in Mahabubabad in the Indian State of Telangana.
In 2000, Sravan Kumar obtained his Secondary School Certificate from Sri Sathya Sai National School at Anantapur and completed his Intermediate Education at Mahalakshmi ITI College at Guntakal in 2004.
Narra Sravan attained his Graduation with Degree(Open Degree) from Dr B.R. Ambedhkar Degree College in Mahabubababad.
CAREER IN POLITICS:
Role in Communist Party of India(CPI)-
Mr Narra In 2007, Sravan Kumar began his political career as an Active Member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) and began serving the people regardless of their Caste, Race, Gender, and Religion for the progress and development of Backward Classes along with religion.
Sravan Kumar was appointed the Gummunuru Branch Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in 2014 due to his perseverance, dedication, and service. Since then, he has served many people with his kind heart by completing the tasks assigned to him and garnering the people’s support.
In recognition of his contributions to the party’s growth, the party offered him the Town Organization Member of Mahabubabad in 2018, and he carried out his responsibilities with great care.
In 2022, he was designated as Mandal Assistant Secretary (Sahaya Karyadarshi) of Mahabubabad in recognition of his unwavering devotion and efforts for the betterment of humanity. Since then, he has displayed a keen interest in every activity for the glory of the respective Society.
Sravan Kumar was chosen as the District Council Member of Mahabubabad in 2018 in recognition of his work for the people. In this role, he would continue to deliver services and serve the people in every manner.
Involvement in the All India Students Federation (AISF) –
In 2009, he entered the (AISF) All India Students’ Federation (the oldest student organisation in India), where he seeks to improve students’ lives with an emphasis on peace, development, and scientific socialism.
As an AISF Active Member, he laboured tirelessly for the Organization’s triumph from the day he joined it until the day he left it.
In 2009, he was selected AISF Town Council Member of Mahabubabad upon joining the party to assist the people and address their concerns by efficiently carrying out his duties and following to the party’s principles and standards.
Participation in AIYF’s (All India Youth Federation)
Simultaneously, in 2014, Sravan Kumar became an Active Member of the All India Youth Federation (AIYF) to unify youth and their organisations for a brighter future and to construct the world that previous generations envisioned.
He promotes himself as the AIYF Town Secretary of Mahabubabad. He actively participates in every activity, carrying out his duties in line with a code of conduct and for the public exposure of the party.
Positions in Dalita Hakkula Porata Samithi(DHPS)-
Sravan Kumar joined the Dalita Hakkula Porata Samithi (DHPS) in 2018 to obtain reservations for SC and ST in higher pay, proper execution of the SC and ST sub-plan, and fast filling of 40,000 vacant SC and ST employment.
In 2018, he was appointed as the DHPS Constituency Secretary of Mahabubabad due to his effort and humility towards the progress and welfare of the people. In this position, he provides services to the community by addressing the needs of everyone who has requested his aid.
He keeps the confidence that the individuals have placed in him and continues his service, focusing on the welfare of the people at present and engaging in activities that would promote Party advancement.
Sravan Kumar was authorised as the DHPS Mahabubabad Constituency Secretary in the Joint Warangal District in 2018 by holding out his responsibilities under a code of conduct and for recognition, having received the authority and performed every activity as his responsibility for the welfare of the people.
In 2019, he extended his commitment and effort by accepting the prestigious post of DHPS State Council Member of Telangana to care for the people and their problems, and he served in this position.
In 2019, after the untimely death of Mr Bargila Sailu, Sravan Kumar assumed the duties of the DHPS State General Secretary of Telangana and had been serving the people by addressing their needs in the given position.
Participation in the All India Dalit Rights Movement (AIDRM) –
In 2021, in addition to his primary responsibilities, Sravan Kumar joined the All India Dalit Rights Movement (AIDRM), the Dalit wing of the Communist Party of India (CPI), to challenge the socio-cultural dominance of the upper castes to seek justice through speeches, literary works, plays, music, and cultural organisations.
His unrelenting dedication and genuine effort earned him the post of National Council Member of AIDRM in 2021, and he has since worked ceaselessly for the people, considered their welfare, and garnered the people’s utmost adoration.
Engagement at the All India Trade Union Congress
Sravan Kumar joined the oldest Trade Union Federation in India, the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) in 2021. This organisation is affiliated with the Communist Party of India. In 2021, Sravan Kumar was assigned as the AITUC District Office Bearer (Executive Member) of Mahabubabad. Since then, he has been fulfilling the needs of the people in his assigned position.
Sravan Kumar has engaged in several social and welfare initiatives for the public while serving in his appointed roles. From the time he started his service career to the present, he has used all of his resources for the people and pursued a life of public welfare.
As a Telangana Activist:
Narra Sravan Kumar was a Telangana Activist. From 2004 until 2014, during the Telangana Movement, Sravan Kumar campaigned to form a new state, Telangana, from the current state of Andhra Pradesh in India.
For the formation of Telangana as a separate state, he participated in several social programs, including marches, bike rallies, and dharnas.
During the time of Rasta Roko, he established the Vanta Varpu and organised the Sakala Jamula Samme, Bahiranga Saba, and several more dharnas and rallies.
Party Activities:-
- To secure the separation of Telangana, anti-people measures such as Bayyaram Steel Industry, Kazipet Coach Factory, Tribal University, financing for backward areas, privatisation of coal blocks, and sale of public sector firms were enacted.
- In the centre of Mahbubabad district centre, 2-3 streets in the Gummudur area of the 29th ward suffer as the roads become muddy due to light rain and water enters the houses. Given the upcoming rains, the CPI party has demanded that government officials take immediate action so that the people are not inconvenienced, seeking public funds and compensation for the walls demolished as part of road widening work.
- The leaders of the CPI party protested the pro-corporate and anti-people policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by holding a massive protest in the district centre of Manukota, where they placed stoves on gas cylinders and bread, offered tea to the people wood stoves on the road, and demanded that prices be reduced.
- A dharna was organised in front of the Mahbubabad DE office under the auspices of the CPI to protest the state’s TRS government’s decision to increase energy rates. Under the leadership of the CPI party Mahabubabad, an effigy of the central government was burned to instantly cut the increasing costs of fuel, gas, and diesel.
- The CPI party organized a protest program at the Stupa of Martyrs against Narendra Modi’s inappropriate remarks as a parliamentary witness. It said that Telangana means the self-respect of four crore people and insulted the people’s self-respect.
- Narra Shravan Kumar in Collectorate siege protesting the illegal midnight arrest of CPI State Assistant Secretary Koonanneni Sambasivarao on hunger strike in support of RTC workers in Hyderabad.
- As part of the Bharat Bandh, the bandh was participated in under the leadership of the CPI party, demanding the abolition of anti-agricultural laws, the repeal of anti-labour laws and the demand to make rules suitable for agricultural workers and to reduce the rates of petrol, diesel and gas.
Party and Community Meetings:-
- Dalita Hakkula Porata Samithi, BKMU, AIAWU, and DSMM participated in the National Conference held in Delhi on November 5 under the auspices of the All India Dalit Rights Movement (AIDRM), BKMU, AIAWU, and DSMM in opposition to the escalating assaults on Dalits in India.
- At the Round Table Meeting of the Caste Eradication Awareness Program, B Vijaya Sarathi, secretary of the CPI Party in the Mahabubabad district, and Narra Shravan, state general secretary of the Dalit Rights Struggle, appealed to the people.
- The state government’s careless attitude towards Dalits has burned the state government’s target, and the state government owed 80000 crores to the Dalits. It was demanded to spend all the plan, including surplus funds.
Pandemic Service:
- He offered masks, sanitizers, meals to the underprivileged, and financial assistance.
- He sneaked towards helping those impacted by the lockdown by distributing vegetables and fruits to villagers, the needy, and Municipality personnel while abiding by the precautions.
- A demonstration was held to bring attention to social isolation and the need to take conservative steps to stop the Corona Epidemic.
- For the villager’s protection, sodium hypochlorite solution was sprayed all around the village to exterminate the corona infection.
- The region contaminated with the coronavirus has been designated a “red zone,” and residents have been informed of the necessary safety measures and precautions to take.
- He looked after the people and was constantly available, mainly to the poorest people in the zone. He rushed to the hospital with the Corona-affected people and admitted them after consulting the doctor.
- During the worldwide lockdown, he assisted people by providing meals to them after they followed certain precautionary measures.

As part of the Bathukamma Aata-Pata-Mata programme sponsored by the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW), women acclaimed the CPI Party for its continuing struggle against assaults, rapes, and repression of women in the nation and the state.
