Mumtaz Ahmed Khan is the Pro-Tem Speaker and MLA(Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly) of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) in Charminar. He was born on 01-07-1948 to Late Gulam Ghouse Khan in Panch Mohalla, Charminar.

In 1968, He has completed Intermediate from City College in Hyderabad. He has completed B.Sc. from Mumtaz College in Hyderabad.

Khan started his political journey with the Congress Party and he was the Leader. From 1994-1999, He won the MLA seat and he served as an MLA in Yakathpura Constituency of Congress Party. From 1999-2003, He again appointed as an MLA of the Congress Party in Yakathpura Constituency.

From 2004-2009, he served as an MLA from Yakathpura Constituency of Congress Party, from 2009-2014 also won the MLA seat.

Mumtaz Ahmed Khan joined the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) Party and He was the Leader. From 2014-2018, he worked as an MLA of the AIMIM Party in Charminar Constituency.

In 2018, Khan was the MLA(Member of Telangana Legislative Assembly) of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) in Charminar. In 2019, Khan was appointed as a Pro-tem Speaker of Telangana.

On behalf of AIMIM, President Janab Barrister Asasuddin Owaisi Sahab relief packages were distributed In Zehra Nagar Mir Alam Mandi under the Pathergatti Division of Charminar constituency to the needy. The ration kit consists of essential needed to serve a family for 15 days.
