I am Maddi Padma, a dedicated leader serving the people of Suryapet, Telangana, with unwavering commitment and passion. My journey in politics and community service has been shaped by the values of compassion, integrity, and social justice instilled in me from a young age. Born into a family deeply rooted in activism and leadership, I learned the importance of serving the community and striving for positive change. From my early endeavors as an Anganwadi Teacher to my tenure as Sarpanch of Adivemula Village, I have always prioritized the well-being and empowerment of my constituents. Through my various roles within the Indian National Congress Party and beyond, I have worked tirelessly to address local issues, empower women, and promote social welfare. My dedication to uplifting the marginalized and improving the lives of all those I serve is unwavering. 

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION:

Maddi Padma was born on January 9, 1969, in Kompalli, which is located in the Medchal-Malkajgiri District of Telangana. Her parents were Swamy and Kotamma. She completed her secondary education at ZPHS, Kompalli, obtaining an SSC standard qualification.

“In 1980, Padma and Janardhan embarked on a lifelong journey of companionship, solemnizing their union in a ceremony attended by their parents and prominent leaders of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), including Mr. Mallu Swarajyam and B.N. Reddy. Janardhan, a dedicated Advocate by profession, hails from a family deeply rooted in social activism. His father, a revered CPM leader and Ayurvedic doctor, made significant contributions to both the political landscape and public health. A tireless freedom fighter, he played a crucial role in India’s struggle for independence, and his legacy as a champion of social justice, healthcare, and national progress continues to inspire future generations. His life’s work exemplifies the ideals of the CPM in striving for a more equitable and just society, ensuring that the rights of the marginalized and oppressed are upheld. Through his unwavering commitment to social change and holistic well-being, he not only contributed to the political fabric of the nation but also worked tirelessly to improve the lives of individuals through alternative medicine.”

This couple was blessed with two children: Rekha Goud, an outstanding International Tennis Player, and Maddi Rajasekhar, an entrepreneur.

Padma’s upbringing was steeped in activism, as her parents were fervent CPM leaders actively involved in the party’s initiatives. Inspired by their dedication and the dynamic leadership of Mallu Swarajyam and B.N. Reddy, Padma found her calling in the realms of social activism and CPM activities.

Maddi Padma’s commitment to serving her community has been unwavering throughout her life. Even after her marriage, she continued to actively engage in various activities, demonstrating her passion for making a difference in people’s lives.

In the year 1989, Padma embarked on a journey of compassion and care by working as an Anganwadi Teacher. Her role involved nurturing and supporting pregnant women and young children at the Anganwadi Center, where she played a crucial role in ensuring their well-being during crucial stages of life.

In 1990, Padma furthered her commitment to education by taking up the role of a Vidya Vayojana Teacher in Sakshara Bharat. Through this initiative, she contributed to the literacy drive, empowering individuals with the gift of knowledge and fostering a culture of learning within her community.

Continuing her dedication to uplifting the lives of children, in 1992, Padma assumed the role of a Bala Karmikula Scheme Coordinator. Following her election as Sarpanch, Padma made a significant decision to align herself with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party in 2013. Recognising the critical need for access to clean water, Padma facilitated the installation of water tanks and borewells, effectively mitigating water scarcity issues in the village. In 2019, Padma bravely contested for the position of Sarpanch in Adivemula Village. However, despite her efforts, she faced defeat. Undeterred by this setback, Padma continued her pursuit of serving her community.

MPTC Contest:

Following her defeat in the Sarpanch election, Padma decided to contest as an MPTC in the same year. Though she experienced a narrow margin in the voting percentage, she unfortunately did not secure the position. Despite these challenges, Padma remained determined to contribute to the welfare of her village.

Padma actively participated in various activities organised by the Congress party. During the 2019 general elections, she dedicated herself to the election campaign and participated in party programs, showcasing her commitment to the party’s ideals.

• Fight Against Sand Mafia:

Padma demonstrated her courage by standing up against the illegal transportation of sand by the Sand Mafia team. She tirelessly fought against this menace, advocating for the enforcement of laws to protect the environment and the interests of the local community.

Recognizing the importance of addressing local issues, Padma engaged with the villagers, listened to their concerns, and took proactive steps to resolve them.
