Kasi Lakshman Swamy

Kasi Lakshman Swamy is the Senior Leader of the YSRCP in Sunkarapalem village. He was born in 1968 to Satyam and Kanthamma.

Education Background

In 1985, He studied SSC at SDVV high school, Kolanka, and completed Intermediate from Ideal Science college, Kakinada. He attained his Graduation(BA) from Andhra University. In 1989, Lakshman Swamy has completed TTC from Rajamundry municipal college.

Political Life

Lakshman is very interested in politics with values. From a young age, he wanted to get into politics and serve the people. He started his political career with the Republican Party of India in 1999. The party is a splinter group of the Republican Party of India and has its roots in the Scheduled Castes Federation led by Dr.B.R. Ambedkar. The president of the party is Ramdas Athawale.

In 1992, Lakshman Swamy fought for the welfare of Dalit’s he took part in Dalit’s Movements. As a result of Lakshmana’s hard work for the Dalits, he was appointed as the General Secretary of the Mandal Dalit United Welfare.

In 1996, Lakshman Swamy founded Samatha Public School he was the Founder and Chairman of it it and was inaugurated by Paneti Mohan Rao.

In 1999, Lakshman Swamy contested as MLA from Thallarevu constituency from the RPI party. He joined the Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) and elected as Constituency in Incharge of Mummidivaram. In 2000, Lakshman Swamy left the BSP and joined the Indian National Congress(INC) party. His dedication to the way he served the people promoted him Mandal President of Thallarevu from the Congress party. He re-elected as Mandal President of Thallarevu in 2004.

Lakshman Swamy fought on every issue faced by the students like Scholarships, Quality meals, college Infrastructure, etc. He fought for Scholarships for students and employees to the youth. He provided free education to orphans who could not afford to study and gave them stationery and examination pads.

Lakshman Swamy was the Founder and President of “Bharosa Voluntary Service Organization”. He served as District General Secretary of the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) in 2006. In 2018, Lakshman Swamy becomes the Constituency President of the Black Congress.

By recognizing his efforts the party appointed him as Chairman of the SC Department in 2019 He again contested as MLA from Razole constituency but unfortunately, he defeated with a slightly different majority. Lakshman held the position of Constituency in Incharge of Mummidivaram from the Congress party.

He joined the YSRCP under the auspicious of Y.V Subba Reddy and Mummidivaram constituency MLA Ponnada Sathish Kumar. Lakshman plays a key role in every party meeting, party joining programs.

Lakshman Swamy gave his contributions, to Padayatra which is done for the Polavaram Project.

Recent Activities

• Lakshman participated in the CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Padayatra and was always with him to know his well-being.
• Ramesh made people aware of YSRCP schemes such as Jagananna Amma Vodi, Jagananna Chedodu, Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, Illa Pattalu, YSR Arogya scheme, YSR Bima, YSR Pension Kanuka, YSR Rythu Bharosa, YSR Sunna Vaddi Pathakam, YSR Vahana Mitra.
• He gave his contributions to every program, conducts election campaigns, took part in Dharnas, Rasta Rokos, protest programs for the Party development.
• When the Tuffan occurs, Lakshman provided essentials, financial assistance to the Tuffan victims on his own and through NGOs.

Service During Covid Crisis

• Lakshman provided his service during the pandemic time also.
• He financially helped covid victims by providing vitamin tablets, masks, Sanitizers, and fruits.
• During the Pandemic Period, he distributed fruits, food packets, and water bottles to the road siders and also distributed blankets to them.
• He also created awareness on the maintenance of Physical distance and following precautionary measures to prevent the epidemic in Corona.
• He distributed food and rice bags to the migrants and also contributed to them financially.
• Sodium hypochlorite solution was sprayed all over the village for the safety of the village.
• Awareness camps and seminars were organized on the Covid-19 vaccine and about the effects of the virus.
• Lakshman distributed vegetables and fruits to the village people and needy people in the covid-19 lockdown period.
• Conducted Annadhanam Program for migrates which is served and satisfied many hungry people.
• He distributed food, medicine during the covid second wave also. 
• He delivered oxygen cylinders to the covid victims and saved many lives.
