K.E. Sreekanth Gowd

K.E. Sreekanth Gowd, an Indian politician affiliated with the YSR Congress Party, holds various positions within the community and political party. He serves as the Vanijya Vibhagam District President of Sri Sathya Sai District and A.P.B.C Sangham State General Secretary in Andhra Pradesh.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION:

On the 22nd of July 1986, Sreekanth Gowd was born and raised by the couple Mr. Venkateshwarlu and Mrs. Girija in the village of Lepakshi in Sri Sathya Sai District in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh.

He acquired his Secondary School Certificate from Sri Sai Public School at Anantapur in 2000 and completed Intermediate Education at Sri Chaitanya Junior College at Anantapur in 2002.

Sreekanth attained his graduation of Degree from  Sri Sai Baba National Degree College at Anantapur in 2007.

CAREER IN POLITICS:

In 2002, Sreekanth’s enrollment into the All India Students’ Federation (AISF) marked the inception of his political expedition toward advocating for the enhancement of students’ lives in India. As the oldest student organization in the country, the AISF has played an influential role in shaping the political framework of India. Through the AISF, Sreekanth promoted peace, development, and scientific socialism, a guiding principle throughout his political tenure.

As an Active Member of the AISF, Sreekanth labored assiduously to ensure the organization’s success. His commitment to the party’s goals and objectives was unswerving, and he devoted himself to the cause from the moment he joined until his departure. Through his work with the AISF, Sreekanth acquired an extensive understanding of the challenges that students encounter in India, and he strove to address these challenges through his political endeavors.

In 2001, Sreekanth was designated the AISF Town President of Anantapur 2002. This enabled him to assist people and address their grievances by carrying out his duties competently and adhering to the party’s principles and standards. Subsequently, in 2007, Sreekanth became a member of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). Under the rules of conduct and administrative concerns, he was elected as the NSUI District Student Youth Wing of Sri Sathya Sai District. In this capacity, he ardently worked toward the welfare of all individuals, utilizing his position to aid those in need.

Sreekanth’s continued commitment to the betterment of society and tireless efforts in serving the people resulted in his promotion to the esteemed position of Parliament President of Hindupur in the year 2014. This was a significant achievement for Sreekanth, and he served with utmost diligence and dedication, consistently striving to promote the well-being of the people.

Through his exemplary service and unwavering dedication, Sreekanth earned the respect and admiration of the people he served, and his tenure as the parliament President of Hindupur was marked by his outstanding performance and achievements.

In 2012, Sreekanth was captivated by the services rendered to the people by Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the founder of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP), and he joined the YSRCP party, serving as a Leader of the Party. 

As a part of YSRCP, he expressed a keen interest. He performed every activity as an active Leader by discharging his duties with a code of conduct and for the recognition of the respective party. Since the day he joined, Sreekanth has worked assiduously for the development of the party and the betterment of society, dutifully carrying out his responsibilities while adhering to the party’s rules and regulations.

For his work and humility towards the growth and welfare of the people, in 2019, he was appointed as the Vanijya Vibhagam District President of Sri Sathya Sai District from YSRCP by providing services to the people by satisfying the requirements of everyone who appealed to him for assistance.

CAREER IN THE COMMUNITY:

In addition to his primary responsibilities, Sreekanth joined the A.P.B.C Sangham, established by R. Krishnaiah. His exceptional service during this period led to his appointment as the Parliament President of Hindupur from 2014 to 2019.

Due to his unwavering dedication to the welfare of the people, Sreekanth was subsequently promoted to the position of State General Secretary of A.P.B.C Sangham in 2012. He served with distinction, consistently contemplating the well-being of the people and earning their respect.

Sreekanth’s participation in the Gowda Community was driven by his commitment to the party’s development and progress. In 2014, he joined the Andhra Pradesh Ediga Gowda Sangam. He assumed the role of the District President of Sri Sathya Sai District, which he carried out with utmost diligence and caution while performing the Party’s activities. Despite taking on more prominent positions within the Party, Sreekanth never failed to provide vital services to the people, responding to the needs of all who sought his assistance.

Contested Positions:

In his quest for leadership within the Gowda Community, Sreekanth contested the position of Chairman with the utmost integrity and determination. Although the voting percentage had minor differences, the position was ultimately vacated, marking a temporary setback in his political journey.

Participation in Samaikyandra Movement:

As an Andhra Pradesh Activist, Sreekanth actively participated in the Samaikyandhra Movement, which prevented the state’s division by separating Telangana districts into a separate Telangana state. Through his participation, he provided invaluable academic support towards the cause and demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the betterment of the state.

Sreekanth participated in large rallies and protests across the state to raise awareness and show solidarity with the cause. 

Sreekanth conducted public meetings to discuss the implications of the proposed division and educate people about the negative consequences it could have. Sreekanth met with government officials to express their concerns and demands and seek a resolution to the issue.

Sreekanth used social media platforms to create awareness about the issue and mobilize support for the movement and collected signatures for petitions to demonstrate the widespread opposition to the proposed division, and pressured the government to reconsider its decision.

As a fervent supporter of the unity of Andhra Pradesh state, Sreekanth actively took part in the Amarana Nirahara Deeksha movement aimed at protesting and preventing the proposed separation of Andhra Pradesh. The Amarana Nirahara Deeksha was a hunger strike organized by the Samaikyandra movement, a political campaign focused on keeping Andhra Pradesh intact and opposing its division. Sreekanth’s participation in the movement was a testament to his unwavering commitment to the cause of Andhra Pradesh’s unity and his willingness to take a bold stance in defense of its people.
