Jupally Krishna Rao was the Former MLA of Kollapur Constituency. He was born on 10-08-1955 to Sheshagiri Rao in Pedda Dagada Village, Mahaboobnagar district. He has completed B.A. from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
He has Business. Jupally Krishna Rao started his career as a bank employee and gradually succeeded in the construction business. He married Sujana. They have two sons. Elder Son is Varun Jupally and Younger is Arun Jupally.
He started his political journey with the Indian National Congress Party(INC). From 1999-2003 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections, he elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from the Congress party.
From 2004-2009, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections contested Independently and won the post of Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA). Krishna Rao resigned to his position for a separate state and joined the Telangana Movement and participated in the Padayatra.
In 2009, in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Elections, he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from the Congress party. He resigned to the MLA post on 04-07-2011 and re-elected on 26-03-2012 in the By-Election.
He quit the Congress party and joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) party on 30-October- 2011. From 2009-2011, he served as Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs under Late Sri YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s Cabinet. Later in Kiran Kumar Reddy’s cabinet.
In 2014, in Telangana Legislative Elections, he was elected as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) with a margin of 72741 votes by defeating Beeram Harshavardhan Reddy of the Congress Party.
He is currently handling the Minister for Textiles & Sugar in the Government of Telangana. He served as Minister for Panchayath and Rural Development.
