Jookanti Praveen Kumar

Mr. Jookanti Praveen Kumar is a well-known Social Activist and BC Welfare Association State Secretary of Telangana, India.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION:

Praveen Kumar was born on June 10th, 1985, to Mr. Jookanti Keshavulu and Mrs. Jookanti Padma. His childhood was spent in the village of Parupally, which is located in Rajapet Mandal of the Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri District in the Indian state of Telangana. 

Praveen attended Zilla Parishad High School in Bondugula Village of Rajapet Mandal to pursue his academic aspirations, where he obtained his SSC Standard in the year 2000. He then completed his Intermediate Education in 2002 at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Junior College at Bhuvanagiri. To further his education, he underwent TTC training in Hyderabad, which helped him develop a strong teaching and education foundation.

Praveen’s commitment to his education paid off when he attained his graduation Degree from SVS Degree College at Vidyanagar, Hyderabad, in 2005. He later pursued his Post Graduation and obtained an M.A. degree in 2007. He then took a brief break from his studies before returning to pursue his B.Ed, which he completed in 2022 from Gandhi Educational College in Hayath Nagar. During his academic journey, Praveen demonstrated a strong work ethic and a desire to learn, which paved the way for his future success.

EARLY CAREER IN POLITICS:

Praveen Kumar has always been fascinated by politics and has dedicated his life to serving the people by becoming a politician. Since his early years, he has been passionate about making a difference in people’s lives through his services. He strongly believes that his work should lead to the success of the people he serves. This drive has made him a valuable asset to the political landscape of his community.

In 2003, Praveen Kumar began his career as a politician by joining the BC Student Association while pursuing his education. He recognized the importance of fighting for the rights of students and took up the challenge of representing their interests. He addressed several student issues, such as fee reimbursement and disputes, at the college level and among students.

As the Nalgonda Secretary of the BC Students Association in 2003, Praveen Kumar demonstrated his commitment to the well-being and development of students. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the student’s interests were protected and that they received the best possible education. His hard work and dedication to the cause earned him the trust and respect of the students he served.

Praveen Kumar was appointed as the BC Student Association Hyderabad President for his outstanding performance and dedication from 2004 to 2005. He continued his work toward the welfare of society, tirelessly carrying out his duties by the rules and regulations. He focused on addressing the needs of the people and working towards their betterment.

In 2006, Praveen Kumar’s impressive performance led to his appointment as the BC Student Association State Secretary of Telangana. He took up the responsibility with a strong commitment to serving the people. He worked tirelessly, citing the code of conduct and disciplinary concerns, to ensure that the people of his community were well taken care of. He has continued to serve the people selflessly and tirelessly, dedicating his life to the betterment of society.

POSITIONS AND PARTICIPATION IN TDP:

Praveen Kumar has an outstanding track record of holding several leadership positions during his student phase, where he provided unwavering support to resolve various challenges faced by his peers. Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated his capabilities and leadership skills, which became the foundation of his political journey. In 2007, Praveen Kumar took the first step towards his political career by joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) as a Member.

Praveen Kumar’s decision to join the TDP was fueled by his admiration for the party’s leader, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who displayed remarkable governance in his efforts to serve the state’s citizens. As a result, Praveen Kumar’s political journey began with a clear goal of contributing towards the betterment of his community through active participation in the party’s activities.

Since joining the TDP, Praveen Kumar has been a diligent and dedicated leader with a strong code of conduct in fulfilling his responsibilities. His commitment and enthusiasm for the party’s activities have earned him unprecedented confidence from his peers and party members.

In recognition of his leadership skills and unwavering commitment to the party, Praveen Kumar was entrusted with the position of TNSF Telugu Nadu Vidyarthi Samaikya State Secretary of Telangana in 2007. Despite being a young and inexperienced leader at the time, he took up the challenge with zeal and passion and has since then carried out the responsibilities assigned to him with the utmost diligence.

BC Praja Vedika 

In 2008, Praveen Kumar established BC Praja Vedika, an organization committed to promoting the welfare of the people in his state. As a responsible citizen, he recognized the need to create a platform to address the pressing issue of unemployment, a major challenge in the region. With the belief that the graduates and literates in the state should have access to employment opportunities, Praveen Kumar took it upon himself to advocate for their rights and empower them.

As the Founder and Chairman of BC Praja Vedika, Praveen Kumar has demonstrated a commitment to the cause of job creation and employment opportunities. He has diligently carried out all the activities required to establish the organization and ensure it complies with the highest ethical standards. Under his leadership, the organization has successfully advocated for the rights of the people and has become a respected voice in the community.

As a Telangana Student Activist:

Praveen Kumar was a prominent and dedicated Telangana Activist who was pivotal in the Telangana movement from 2009-2012. Praveen Kumar was a passionate advocate for the creation of Telangana and actively participated in various social programs and events to raise awareness and support for the cause.

Praveen Kumar’s contributions to the Telangana movement were significant and noteworthy. He participated in several peaceful protests, including the Million March, bike rallies, and dharnas, to raise awareness of the plight of the people of Telangana and their demand for a separate state. Through his tireless efforts and dedication to the cause, Praveen Kumar emerged as a respected and influential leader in the Telangana movement, inspiring many to join the cause and fight for the creation of Telangana.

Telangana Bahujan Front:

Praveen Kumar is a dedicated individual with a deep passion for service. He is widely known for his involvement in establishing the Telangana Bahujan Front in 2010. This organization was set up with the primary aim of advocating for creating a separate Telangana state. 

Praveen Kumar played a key role in bringing together like-minded individuals who shared his vision for a better Telangana. Through his efforts, he helped articulate the people’s needs and created a platform for society’s development.

As the Founder and Chairman of the Telangana Bahujan Front, Praveen Kumar has remained committed to serving the community. He is known for his meticulous approach to duties and always endeavors to discharge his responsibilities with the utmost care. 

Praveen Kumar has worked tirelessly to ensure that the community’s interests are protected, and their voices are heard. He has also been instrumental in initiating several programs and projects to uplift the people’s socio-economic status.

Role and Responsibilities in BC Welfare Association:

As a result of his unwavering commitment and genuine endeavors toward the upliftment of marginalized communities, he was appointed as the State Secretary of the BC Welfare Association in Telangana in 2015. Since then, he has been tirelessly working towards the betterment of society, focusing on promoting the welfare of the people. He has earned widespread public acclaim throughout his tenure for his selfless service and dedication to the cause.

Praveen Kumar has also played a crucial role in the growth and development of his political party. His strategic thinking and innovative ideas have helped the party prosper, and his unwavering commitment to its ideals has made him a valuable asset to the organization. His strong leadership skills and vision for a better society have garnered him a significant following and have established him as a role model for many aspiring leaders.

Involvement in MJPTBCWREIS:

Recognizing his unwavering commitment and tireless efforts, he was appointed State Coordinator of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society in 2023. This appointment resulted from his dedication to promoting the well-being and education of the backward classes in Telangana.

As the State Coordinator, his primary responsibility is to oversee and promote the development of comprehensive educational and welfare programs that cater to the needs of the backward classes. In carrying out his duties, he is expected to collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and community leaders, to ensure the effective implementation of these programs.

Activities Performed as a Responsible Leader:

• In the aftermath of the electricity workers’ union’s appeal to Chalo Pragathi Bhavan to address the issues of the electricity workers, Kale Mahesh, Bala Narasimha, and Sainath, the leaders of the union, were detained under the pretext of early arrest and taken to the Rajpet Mandal Police Station. This incident highlights the need for constructive dialogue and a peaceful resolution to the concerns of workers.
• In Yasangi, the government has promptly responded to the possibility of untimely rains causing the grain cultivated by the farmers to be submerged. The government has requested that the establishment of grain purchase centers be expedited to support the farmers. This is a proactive approach to address the challenges faced by farmers and demonstrates the government’s commitment to their welfare.
• During the Jayanthi Sabha organized at the district center under the direction of the District Collector to celebrate the 197th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule, Jookanti Praveen Kumar, state coordinator of the Jookanti Utsava Committee, made an appeal to the government to confer the Bharat Ratna on the Phule couple. The couple initiated social reforms in the country, promoted women’s education, and eradicated social inequalities.
• To mark the 197th birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule, state coordinators of Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Utsav Committee, Jookanti Praveen Kumar, and Miriyala Seenu met with Collector Pamela Satpathy at the collector’s office on Monday to discuss the celebrations to be held today. This commemoration is an opportunity to recognize the pivotal role played by Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule in India’s social movements.
• Under the guidance of Jookanti Praveen Kumar, Rajpet has written to State Governor Dr. Tamil Sai Sounder Rajan, requesting that a High Court judge inquire into the paper leakage case related to Group-1 and various jobs under Telangana State Public Service Commission. The letter highlights the need to ensure justice for the 30 lakh unemployed people of the state. This demonstrates the need for transparency and accountability in the administration of public services.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar, the daughter of the State Secretary of the BC Welfare Association, has been an active participant in the BC movement for two decades. Her efforts towards fighting for social justice and promoting the cause of the BC movement were manifested in her recent act of distributing fruits to patients in a private hospital in Rajpet Mandal center. This initiative was taken to celebrate the first anniversary of the movement.
• During the closing meeting of the BC Student Youth Struggle held at Indira Park in Hyderabad, Jookanti Praveen Kumar, the State Secretary of BC Welfare Association, delivered a speech to address the gathering of thousands of participants.
• In commemoration of the 191st birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the matriarch and social reformer who championed women’s education in India by establishing many schools, Jookanti Praveen Kumar led a petition-handing ceremony to the local Tehsildar Ravikumar.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar, the state secretary of BC Welfare Association, was invited as the chief guest at the 136th day agitation program of Akilapaksha aimed at establishing Raghunathapuram village as mandal center.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar was also present at the student rally in Bhuvangiri to welcome the arrival of the BC Student Yuvajan Puruyatra to Bhuvangiri. She addressed the participants during the event.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar spoke at the 100th day initiation camp held at the Collectorate to demand the establishment of Raghunathapuram mandal center. During the event, she urged the government to take action on this issue.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar, the state secretary of BC Welfare Association, expressed her concern over the damage caused by heavy rains in the Kurraram pond in Rajpet mandal and demanded that the government intervene and take measures to prevent further damage.
• Under the auspices of all-party organizations, a petition was handed over to MPDO Nalla Ramaraj at Rajpet Mandal Parishad office seeking to grant support pensions to all deserving poor individuals.
• Similarly, under the auspices of all-party organizations, another petition was handed over to the Deputy Tahsildar at the Tehsildar’s office in Rajpet mandal center. The petition demanded that the qualifying marks for SC, ST, and BC candidates be reduced to 40 marks in the preliminary examination conducted by the state government for the posts of SC and Constable.
• On the commemoration of the 74th anniversary of the tragic event in Veera Byran Palli, where 118 individuals lost their lives at the hands of the Razakars during the Telangana peasantry’s armed struggle against the despotic Nizam rule in Warangal district, it is requested that the fallen heroes of Byran Palli be recognized as freedom fighters, and they be granted the freedom fighter’s pension.
• On the sixth day of the relay hunger strike aimed at securing the declaration of Ghunadhapuram village as a mandal, Jookanti Praveen Kumar expressed his solidarity with the movement.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar has lent his support to the protest camp organized under the auspices of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Village Assistants (VAs) in order to address the issues faced by VAs.
• Speaking at a media conference in Komuravelli, Jookanti Praveen Kumar, who leads the BC Welfare Association, demanded that the post of chairman of Komuravelli Devasthanam be allocated to the Golla Kuruma Sanghas.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar has lent his support to the agitation program, which has been underway for the past 26 days, under the auspices of the JAC of auto workers, in order to enable autos to ascend the hill in the Yadadri area.
• Under the leadership of Jookanti Praveen Kumar, a petition was presented to the local Tehsildar K. Giridhar requesting that the dilapidated land records be digitized at the mandal revenue office and that measures be taken to preserve those records for future generations.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar expressed his solidarity with the dharna that was organized under the auspices of the United Action Committee of Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs), with the aim of resolving the problems faced by VRAs.
• Jookanti Praveen Kumar, the M.E.F. Constituency Leader, is demanding that the coronavirus be included in the Arogyasri scheme, and that vacant government buildings and farmer’s platform buildings be converted into isolation centers in the Rajpetamandala center, where the severity of the coronavirus is increasing daily. A petition, which contains several demands, was presented to Jayamma, the local Tahsildar, under the leadership of Inzamahesh.
• The leaders of the BC Welfare Society visited the residence of those who went on a hunger strike to restore the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Panjagutta Square in Hyderabad, and expressed their solidarity with the strikers.
