From Village Roots to the Voice of Thalakondapally Mandal

I, Gujjula Mahesh, was born on March 12, 1993, in the culturally rich village of Cheepunuthala, Rangareddy District, Telangana, into a humble and hardworking agricultural family. I am the proud son of Shri Gujjula Ashanna and Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma. My mother, Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma, serves as the Sarpanch of Cheepunuthala Village, and her dedicated leadership has been my strongest source of inspiration.

I completed my schooling at Zilla Parishad High School, Thalakondapally, pursued my intermediate education at Master Minds Junior College, and graduated from Amangal Degree College, Mahabubnagar. My educational journey instilled in me a deep sense of responsibility towards my community and my people.

On September 13, 2021, I formally entered active politics by joining the Indian National Congress under the visionary leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy. I had the privilege of becoming the first person from Cheepunuthala Village to join the Congress party, and I took immense pride in mobilizing over 500 youth from my village to join alongside me. Recognizing my dedication and commitment, I was appointed as the Thalakondapally Mandal President in 2021. Since then, I have worked tirelessly at the grassroots level, advocating for the establishment of a Government Junior College, organizing blood donation camps, providing drinking water facilities, and supporting underprivileged families.

I actively participated in the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Shri Rahul Gandhi and stood firmly beside Honorable Revanth Reddy during his Foot March across the constituency. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I served my community on the front lines, arranging medicines, oxygen, hospital beds, groceries, and financial assistance for those in need. I believe that true leadership is born not in privilege, but in the service of the last person standing in line.

My journey is a testament to the power of grassroots commitment, youth empowerment, and people-centric governance. I dedicate every effort, every initiative, and every step of my political journey to the people of Cheepunuthala and Thalakondapally Mandal. It is their trust, their strength, and their belief in me that drives me forward each and every day.

Early Beginnings of Gujjula Mahesh

Shri Gujjula Mahesh was born into an agricultural family on March 12, 1993, in the culturally rich village of Cheepunuthala, located in the  Rangareddy District of Telangana. He is the farmer son of Shri Gujjula Ashanna and Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma. His mother, Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma is the Sarpanch of Cheepunuthala Village, bringing dedicated leadership and development initiatives to the local community.

Under the guidance of parents deeply connected to grassroots governance and public service, Gujjula Mahesh played a significant role in shaping his values and outlook towards society.

Educational Voyage & Academic Journey

Gujjula Mahesh’s academic odyssey commenced at Zilla Parishad High School, where he diligently earned his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2009 from Thalakondapally, Ranga Reddy district, laying a sturdy educational foundation.

He advanced his studies in 2012 at Master Minds Junior College from Thalakondapally Village, further enriching his intellectual pursuits. His scholarly journey culminated with a distinguished graduation from Amangal Degree College, Mahabubnagar, equipping him with practical skills for his future endeavors in 2015.

Early Political Involvement with the Indian National Congress Party (INC)

Shri Gujjula Mahesh began his formal political journey on 13th September 2021, under the presence of the dynamic and visionary leadership of Telangana’s Chief Minister, Honorable Shri Anumula Revanth Reddy. His decision to enter active politics marked a significant turning point, driven by a strong desire to serve the people and contribute to the development of his village and constituency.

He became the first person from Cheepunuthala Village to join the Indian National Congress (INC). His entry into the party was not just an individual decision but a powerful collective movement. Demonstrating exceptional leadership and influence, Shri Gujjula Mahesh motivated and encouraged the youth of his village to join the Congress party alongside him.

In a remarkable show of support, he successfully brought more than 500 youth from Cheepunuthala Village into the Indian National Congress. On the day of his joining, he led a grand and impressive procession, with over 200 youth arriving in more than 200 cars to formally join the party with him. This large-scale mobilization created a strong wave of enthusiasm among the local youth and sent a powerful message of unity and commitment towards the Congress party in the region.

His proactive efforts in mobilizing young people highlighted his ability to inspire and lead the next generation. Since then, Shri Gujjula Mahesh has continued to work actively within the Indian National Congress, focusing on grassroots-level politics, youth empowerment, and village development.

This impressive beginning to his political career established him as a rising and influential leader in the Cheepunuthala region, known for his organizational skills and ability to bring people together under the banner of the Congress party.

Rise in the Party and Appointment as Thalakondapally Mandal President

Following his entry into the Indian National Congress, Gujjula Mahesh actively served as a dedicated Party Activist. He worked tirelessly at the grassroots level, demonstrating exceptional commitment, sincerity, and passion towards both the party and the development of his village.

His relentless efforts, hard work, and unwavering dedication earned him widespread appreciation. Recognizing his consistent service, sincerity, and strong leadership qualities, the people of Cheepunuthala Village, along with senior Congress party leaders, elevated him to the prestigious position of Thalakondapally Mandal President in 2021. This remarkable rise in such a short span of time clearly reflected the deep trust and immense confidence that both the local people and Congress party workers had in his leadership abilities and his potential to deliver meaningful results at the mandal level.

Family Legacy in Politics – Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma 

Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma is a dedicated and compassionate grassroots leader who serves as the Sarpanch of Cheepunuthala Village, Telangana. Born into a humble agricultural family, she has always remained deeply connected to the soil and the people of her village, channeling that bond into a lifelong commitment to public service.

Oath Taking as Sarpanch of Cheepunuthala Village

Shri Gujjula Ashanna and Smt. Gujjula Lakshmamma took the oath of office as the new Sarpanch of Cheepunuthala Village. With a strong commitment to public service, they pledged to lead the village towards progress and comprehensive development. They expressed their resolve to work with the valuable support and guidance of Kalwakurthy MLA Shri Kasireddy Narayana Reddy and Nagarkurnool MP Shri Mallu Ravi.

As Sarpanch, Smt. Laxmamma has transformed Cheepunuthala through her tireless developmental vision — illuminating every corner of the village with the installation of street lights, restoring dignity and hygiene to the community by clearing long-standing drainage leakages, and ensuring access to clean drinking water through the provision of water tanks. Each of these initiatives reflects not just administrative action, but a mother’s instinct to nurture and protect her community.

Her leadership is not born of politics alone — it is rooted in empathy, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief that every villager deserves a life of dignity and comfort. She has also demonstrated her philanthropic spirit by personally distributing financial assistance to underprivileged families for their children’s weddings. 

A true pillar of strength for both her family and her village, Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma stands as a shining example of women’s leadership in rural Telangana — proving that with resolve, compassion, and service, one woman can light up an entire community.

Major Participation in Party Activities

• Advocacy for Junior College in Thalakondapally Mandal
  Gujjula Mahesh took a strong initiative for the establishment of a Government Junior College in Thalakondapally Mandal. He organized and led a dharna (protest) with the MLA’s and MLC’s, pressing the authorities to sanction the college. He continued the dharna persistently until the junior college was successfully approved and established for the benefit of students in the mandal.
• Participation in Bharat Jodo Yatra
  Gujjula Mahesh actively participated in the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Shri Rahul Gandhi. He played a supportive role by mobilizing people from Thalakondapally Mandal to join the yatra. Additionally, he generously provided his personal funds to cover the expenses of the participants from his mandal, reflecting his strong commitment to the cause.
• Active Role in Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyan and Revanth Reddy Foot March
  During the Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyan, Gujjula Mahesh joined hands with party leaders and workers to connect directly with citizens at the grassroots. He participated enthusiastically in Honorable Shri Revanth Reddy’s Foot March, walking alongside the Chief Minister to listen to public grievances and strengthen party-people bonds. His presence in these major outreach programmes reflects his deep commitment to door-to-door engagement and responsive, people-centric politics.
• Active Participation in Party Programs
  Gujjula Mahesh has been a highly dedicated and active member of the Indian National Congress. He consistently participates in every major and minor program organized by the Congress Party at the mandal and village levels. His unwavering involvement has made him a reliable and committed leader among party workers.
• Opposition to Illegal Activities
  Gujjula Mahesh has fearlessly intervened and raised his voice against illegal and anti-social activities carried out by BJP and BRS parties in the region. He actively opposed any unfair practices and worked to protect the interests of the local people. His bold stand has earned him respect as a courageous and upright leader.
• Support for Underprivileged Marriages
  Through his family’s philanthropic initiative, Gujjula Mahesh facilitated the distribution of financial assistance of ₹50,000 for the weddings of children from poor and underprivileged families. The aid was personally distributed by his mother, Smt. Gujjula Laxmamma. This generous support has helped many deserving families conduct marriages with dignity and reduced their financial burden.
• Blood Donation Camps on Honorable Revanth Reddy’s Birthday
  On the occasion of Smt. On Revanth Reddy’s birthday, Gujjula Mahesh personally donated and organised blood donation camps across various locations. These camps have become a regular tribute, mobilising volunteers and donors to save lives and promote the spirit of selfless service. His leadership in this annual initiative underscores his dedication to humanitarian causes inspired by Congress leadership.

Participation in Social and Development Activities

• Blood Donation Camps
  During his tenure as Mandal President of Thalakondapally, Gujjula Mahesh Reddy actively organized several blood donation camps across the mandal. These camps received enthusiastic participation from the local youth and villagers. His efforts helped save many lives by ensuring a steady supply of blood for medical emergencies in the region.
• Provision of Drinking Water
  Understanding the basic needs of the villagers, Gujjula Mahesh arranged water tanks in Cheepunuthala Village. This initiative significantly improved access to clean drinking water for the residents. His prompt action helped solve the water scarcity problem, especially during summer months.
• Promotion of Sports and Youth Empowerment
  Gujjula Mahesh has always been a strong supporter of youth development. He actively encouraged young people in the village to participate in sports by organizing cricket and volleyball tournaments. These events not only promoted physical fitness but also helped build teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition among the youth.
• Religious and Cultural Contributions
  With deep devotion, Gujjula Mahesh donated his personal funds for the construction of Shiva and Hanuman idols in Cheepunuthala Village. These idols have become important spiritual landmarks for the villagers. His generous contribution strengthened the religious and cultural fabric of the village.
• Active Participation in Dussehra and Navaratri
  Every year during the Dussehra and Navaratri festivities, Gujjula Mahesh participates in special pooja ceremonies with great devotion. He also organizes Annadhanam (free community meals) for devotees and villagers. These initiatives bring the community together and spread the spirit of sharing and harmony.
• Donation of Goddess Idol
  Gujjula Mahesh has made it a tradition to donate a grand idol of Goddess Durga every year during Dussehra celebrations. This annual contribution has greatly enhanced the grandeur of the festival in Cheepunuthala Village. His gesture is deeply appreciated by the local devotees.
• Festival of a Hundred Thousand Lamps
  Every year, he organizes the grand ‘Festival of a Hundred Thousand Lamps’ (Laksha Deepotsavam) in Cheepunuthala Village. The entire village is beautifully illuminated with thousands of lamps, creating a divine atmosphere. This event has become one of the major cultural highlights of the mandal, attracting large participation from surrounding areas.

Pandemic Services

• Between 2019 and 2020, during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Gujjula Mahesh played a crucial role as a coordinator between the people and healthcare providers. He worked tirelessly to ensure that those in need had access to essential medical services, including arranging consultations, coordinating hospital admissions, and facilitating the distribution of medicines and supplies. His proactive approach significantly alleviated the struggles faced by many families during this unprecedented crisis.
• In response to the lockdown measures, Gujjula Mahesh organised Annadanam programs to provide free meals to individuals and families in need. His efforts during this period were crucial in mitigating the effects of the lockdown on vulnerable populations, demonstrating his commitment to community support and welfare.
• In 2019, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Gujjula Mahesh played a pivotal role in aiding the community by facilitating governmental assistance programs, orchestrating vaccination drives, and collaborating with medical teams to ensure comprehensive healthcare delivery. His proactive engagement was instrumental in mitigating the pandemic’s impact on the populace.
• Gujjula Mahesh also took proactive measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 by overseeing the spraying of sanitisation and sodium hypochlorite bleach solution throughout the Division. This initiative was essential in maintaining public health and safety, reflecting his dedication to protecting the community during the pandemic.
• Gujjula Mahesh provided crucial support to those in need by distributing groceries and offering financial assistance to individuals suffering from the virus. Demonstrating his deep commitment to community welfare, he spent his own money to help those struggling during this challenging period.
• Furthermore, he arranged oxygen supply for poor and needy patients who were struggling to get it during the peak of the pandemic. He also played a key role in securing hospital beds for COVID-19 patients by coordinating with hospitals and authorities, ensuring that critical patients received timely admission and treatment.
• Throughout the pandemic, Gujjula Mahesh fearlessly stood on the front lines, ensuring that his community had access to vital resources and support. His unwavering commitment to public service and genuine concern for the well-being of others served as an inspiration to many. Despite facing challenges and risks, he continued to serve with dedication, empathy, and resilience, becoming a ray of hope in the darkest times.
