Dr.Palaka Sreerama Murthy

As an ardent advocate for the people of Visakhapatnam and a dedicated member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), I, Palaka Sree Ramamurthy, have devoted my life to serving my community and advancing the principles of our party. Born and raised in Visakhapatnam, my journey into politics began with a deep-rooted commitment to making a difference in the lives of those around me. From my early days as a student to my extensive education, including a Ph.D. in Law focusing on land reforms in India, I have always strived for excellence and knowledge to better serve my constituents. Throughout my career, whether as the District Legal Cell Co-Convener or the Notary Association District President, I have worked tirelessly to uphold justice and advocate for the rights of the people. My involvement in various social and developmental activities, from college development initiatives to providing assistance during natural disasters and pandemics like Cyclone Hudhud and the COVID-19 pandemic, reflects my unwavering dedication to the welfare of the community. Guided by the principles of integrity, compassion, and service, I continue to stand as a beacon of hope and support for the people of Visakhapatnam, committed to creating a better and brighter future for all.
Early Life&Education:
Murthy was born on 14th August 1971 to Palaka Late Simhachalam and Appala Narasamma and raised up in Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh.
In the year 1986, Murthy completed his Secondary Board of Education from Municipal High School located at VisakhaPatnam. He completed his Undergraduate in 1988 from A.M.A.L Junior College resided at VisakhaPatnam.
Murthy attained his Graduation with Degree from A.M.A.L Degree College from VisakhaPatnam in 1991. In 1995, He finished Master of Business Administration(M.B.A) from Sikkim Manipal University in Dwaraka Nagar placed at Visakhapatnam.
He completed his Master of Laws(LLM) in 2011 from Nagarjuna University situated at Visakhapatnam. Murthy achieved his Ph. D (Law ‘Land Reforms in India their impacts on Social change) at Andhra University located at Visakhapatnam in 2017 and received a Certificate of Doctorate in 2019.
Professional Life:
In the year 2014, He was selected as the Notary Public Central Government doing his part for the betterment of the society by carrying out his duties properly and following the rules and regulations.
In the Year 2020, He was elected as the Notary Association District President for three Districts Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram.
Murthy is the Vice-Convener for the Visakhapatnam Region by discharging his duties by being very cautious during performing the activities till the date.
Chandrababu Naidu appointed Murthy as the Convener in the Pulse Polio an immunisation campaign set up by the state government to eliminate poliomyelitis in India by vaccinating all children.
During the Samaikyandhra movement, before the partition of Andhra Pradesh, Murthy was legally selected as the Legal Cell Co-Convener for the entire state from the Advocate wing by doing his part to help those who ask for help without even thinking.
During his Ph. D. at Andhra University, he represented 13 Universities from Andhra University as State Association Convenor by using all his resources for the people and pursuing his happy life of public welfare, and briefly outlining and following the rules and regulations for the welfare of the people.
To set up a railway zone in Visakhapatnam, a Joint action committee was formed by all the state and national political parties. Murthy was the Convener of the respective committee to continue his duties and serve people all the way.
In 2012, during the outbreak of dengue fever in the Agency area in Vizag, all parties came together to set up a Joint Action Committee. Murthy was appointed as the President of the Committee to be closer in terms of service to the people.
Approach pharma companies and collect all samples. Medications for the disease were given to patients and treated by physicians. A memorandum was handed over to the Vizag Municipal Chairman to take appropriate steps for the eradication of the disease.
Services rendered during the Cyclone Hud-Hud
In 2014, during the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Hudhud which was a strong tropical cyclone that caused extensive damage and loss of life in Vizag, the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu set up a committee.
Chandra Babu and the members of the committee appointed Murthy as the Area Distributor (Convener) under the auspices of the Collector.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor, Zonal Commissioner, Political Leaders, Local MLA, Ex-Corporator also served as Members of the JAC Committee.
For the victims who lost their homes and were living as homeless, food and essential goods were handed over to the people in the most affected area of the calamity.
Awards & Recognition:
Murthy was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for fighting at his own expense as a Legal Advisory to take strict action against the colleges that run 7 colleges without authorisation.
Political Career:
Shortly before the end of his studies, he entered politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) under the auspicious of Narendra Modi the Present Prime Minister of India.
Since the day, Murthy joined the Party, he has been served the BJP and doing his part for the betterment of society by carrying out his duties properly and following the rules and regulations of the party.
As soon as Murthy entered politics, the party handed over the post of District Legal Cell Co-Convener of Visakhapatnam with unprecedented confidence in him. Murthy was desperately carrying out the duties assigned to him without heeding the trust placed on him by the party.
Works performed by Murthy as a Advocate
- As Junior Advocate has not been recognized for his stability for 5 years, Murthy has requested the current Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy with a Memorandum. Jagan Appreciated Murthy for his bravery and awarded 5000 scholarships every month to each Advocate for 3 years.
- On the issues faced by each of the Advocates, the lack of proper facilities for them in the Courts, for the construction of the library, for the Chambers, funds were collected from the Senior Advocates and other leaders, and a memorandum was presented to the Vice-President, Venkaiah Naidu. Naidu collected all the details and sanctioned the remaining expenses.
- In 2013, Murthy went on to represent the Delhi Home Minister, the Union Law Minister, the Union Home Minister, and our Prime Minister, as representing that the State should not deviate.
- In 2013, during Murthy’s tenure as cell co-convener, as many as 100 advocates from across the state staged a dharna in front of Parliament to prevent the state from becoming divided.
- As part of that dharna, a large number of lawyers were arrested during the ongoing movement.
- For 5 years, many dharnas, initiations, and rallies were organized for the establishment of the railway zone. During the dharna, Murthy was arrested 11 times by police officers.
- In 2014, a memorandum was submitted to the Visakhapatnam Railway Minister and the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) for setting up a railway zone in Vizag.
- A memorandum on the issue was also handed over to the Regional Manager in Bhubaneswar for setting up a railway zone in Vizag.
Party Activities:
- Many party development programs were carried out in the village for the growth of the party and he respectably accepts the work assigned by the higher authorities and is completely involved to sort out the issues raised on any topics.
- Participating very enthusiastically during the election and briefly explaining the rules of the party to every single voter, Sreerama Murthy worked hard for the victory of the party.
- Sreerama Murthy is actively involved in the programs organized by the BJP. He conveyed and explained to the people about the greatness of the Party all over the constituency.
- If anyone in the village encounters any problem, Sreerama Murthy will be at the forefront of the problem.
- Sreerama Murthy is not limited to his services to the village but also extends to the people of the entire district.
- Participated in the Samaikyandhra Movement to prevent the division of the state – separating the Telangana districts of the state into a separate Telangana state.
- He always fights against anti-corruption. He said that making money in terms of corruption is a disgrace to our country and that such money is equivalent to scrap paper and those who make money in such a corrupt manner do not deserve respect in the society.
College Development Activities:
- He solved every single problem faced by the students in the school.
- He altered the hostel surroundings for students and Raised the hostel environment by providing proper infrastructure facilities.
- As soon as it came to his notice that there were no proper facilities in the college, new furniture was arranged.
- He arranged all the facilities in the hostel without any restriction for a single student.
- Every year he Distributed books, pens, and clothes to poor children for their higher education and also helped them financially for their bright future.
- Sreerama Murthy mainly focused on issues related to students like Fee reimbursement, Scholarships and worked hard to ensure that scholarships were granted to students immediately.
- Sreerama Murthy laid a big platform for the bright future of the students by organizing an awareness seminar to inform them about the importance of education in school.
- Sreerama Murthy fights for job reservation for students who are struggling to find a decent job after the conclusion of their education to lead their livelihood.
- He fought hard and persevered on the problems faced by the school and college students.
Social & Developmental Activities:
- As Pension money from the government is to support old age people and the handicapped to make ends meet but circumstances related to pensions were cleared by providing pensions to the respective holders.
- He is fulfilling his responsibilities to help the disabled in all ways in terms of organization.
- Sreerama Murthy has performed many social activities in the village such as providing food to the Old aged and Orphan Children, Mineral water to the Villagers.
- He carries out his responsibilities while looking after the welfare of the people living in the village and zone by clearing the issues related to Water, Drainage, and every minute problem to the individual.
- He helped the old and poor people in the village by providing the basic essentials to them for survival and also assisted them during the financial crises.
- Many service activities were organized such as blankets for beggars, clothes for the poor, and food for orphaned children.
- Helped a lot financially for the migrant workers and the poor. Free meals were provided to orphans and the elderly each year.
- Sreerama Murthy is not limited to his services to the village but also extends to the people of the entire district.
- He fights over the problems of the people, for the welfare of the people.
Services Rendered during the Pandemic Covid-19
During the First wave of Corona:
- Sreerama Murthy came forward to help the needy who have been affected by lockdown and distributed vegetables and fruits to the villagers, needy ones, and Municipality workers by following the precautions.
- Food item packets for drivers and migrant labourers were distributed whose livelihood has been affected during this lockdown period.
- Sreerama Murthy came forward with humanity to help those in dire straits during the corona and provide financial assistance to the people who are affected by the lockdown.
- He apportioned Masks, Sanitizers, and food to the poor and also contributed to them financially.
- To spread awareness about social distancing and following precautionary measures to prevent the Epidemic Corona an awareness program has been conducted.
- As part of the drive to eradicate the corona epidemic, Sodium hypochlorite solution was sprayed all over the village for safety of the village.
During the Second Wave of Corona:
- Sreerama Murthy also provided free masks and sanitizers to people with corona deficiency symptoms at the hospital.
- He apportioned Masks, Sanitizers, and food to the poor and also contributed to them financially.
- He worked all days(Day and Night)during the covid period and looked after the people.
- Murthy is constantly available mainly to the poorest people in the zone.
- He has been providing assistance to the unemployed who have lost their jobs due to the corona and are in dire straits.
