Greetings to the esteemed members and supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). I am Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar, and it is an honor to share my journey with you. Born into the rich cultural tapestry of the SC-Mala Community on April 8, 1972, I imbibed the values of service and compassion from my parents, the late Mr. Mulagalapalli Rajagopal Rao and Mrs. Mulagalapalli Nagendramma. Grounded in this upbringing, my life’s journey seamlessly blends medical excellence with a dedicated commitment to community care.

Having completed my medical education at Guntur Medical College, I ventured into healthcare in 2001 by establishing Jaya Maternity and ENT Care Center, an institution that stands as a testament to our commitment to providing quality care. Together with my wife, Dr. Dasari Jayalalitha, a distinguished Gynecologist, we’ve been serving the communities in and around Mancherial for over two decades.

Our collective vision expanded with the establishment of a State-of-the-Art diagnostic and infertility center and the SUN Critical Care Trauma and Multi-Speciality Hospital, addressing critical healthcare needs. Beyond medicine, our commitment to philanthropy includes contributions to education, healthcare, and community welfare.

Beyond healthcare, my involvement in various leadership roles, including serving as Secretary and President of Medical associations, reflects my dedication to enhancing healthcare standards. Furthermore, my close ties with political figures, past MLAs, and MPs showcase my active engagement in the political landscape, contributing to the welfare of the constituencies I serve.

In 2023, I took a step into the political arena with the BJP, inspired by its leaders and driven by an innate desire for public service. My leadership roles within the party and my active participation in various activities reflect my dedication to the BJP’s values and objectives.

In this political journey, I am fortunate to be accompanied by my wife, Dr. Dasari Jayalalitha, whose medical prowess and political engagement complement our shared commitment to community well-being. Together, we strive to contribute meaningfully to the political landscape and continue our service to the people of Mancherial.

Early Life and Cultural Heritage:

Dr. Phani Kumar, Born into the rich cultural legacy of the SC-Mala Community on April 8, 1972, Dr. Phani Kumar imbibed a profound sense of service and compassion from his upbringing. His parents, the late Mr. Mulagalapalli Rajagopal Rao and Mrs. Mulagalapalli Nagendramma instilled in him a deep-rooted responsibility toward his cultural roots. This foundational ethos propelled him into a journey seamlessly intertwining medical excellence with a dedicated commitment to community care.

Educational Pursuits:

His academic odyssey commenced at the esteemed Guntur Medical College, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). Driven by a passion for specialized care, he pursued a Master’s in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) from Andhra Medical College, solidifying his commitment to enhancing healthcare services.

Since 2001, Dr. Phani Kumar has been a pillar of healthcare in Mancherial. In the pursuit of his vision for comprehensive medical services, he founded Jaya Maternity and ENT Care Center. This institution, equipped with 25 beds, stands as a testament to his commitment to providing quality care in both ENT and Maternity Services.

An Evolving Medical Hub:

The growth of his medical journey extends beyond the establishment of his initial center. Recognizing the need for advanced diagnostic and infertility services, he expanded his efforts, establishing a State-of-the-Art diagnostic and infertility Center in Mancherial.

Critical Care Trauma and Multi-Speciality Hospital:

Dr. Phani Kumar’s dedication to healthcare transcends conventional practice. He founded a diagnostic and infertility center, which evolved into the SUN Critical Care Trauma and Multi-Speciality Hospital, a 50-bed facility offering affordable emergency care. This institution serves as a lifeline for critically ill patients, preventing unnecessary loss of life during transit to larger medical centers. His swift response to the COVID-19 pandemic involved the establishment of a specialized COVID hospital, exemplifying a proactive stance toward community health. The hospital continues to provide emergency critical care to severely ill patients, ensuring that even the most economically disadvantaged receive timely and affordable medical attention, averting potential fatalities during transit to more advanced healthcare facilities.

A Healing Partnership –

For over 22 years, Dr. Jayalalitha and Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar have jointly served the communities in and around the villages of Mancherial, spanning four assembly constituencies: Mancherial, Chennur, Bellampalli, and Ramagundam. Patients from Manthani and Dharmapuri also seek their medical expertise. Their medical journey began when the availability of doctors in Mancherial was limited. Dr. Jayalalitha, the fifth Gynecologist, and Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar, the third ENT surgeon, collectively initiated their practice.

Recognizing the inadequacies in government hospital services, patients from remote and interior areas turned to Dr. Jayalalitha and Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar for quality healthcare. Dr. Jayalalitha, specializing in gynecology, has played a pivotal role in delivering thousands of babies from Mancherial and its surrounding villages. In 2010, they established a diagnostic center equipped with advanced facilities such as a CT Scan, fully automated analyzer, mammogram, and digital x-ray, benefiting hundreds of patients. Their critical care hospital became a lifeline during the Covid pandemic, treating various emergencies and saving lives that would otherwise succumb on the way to higher centers.

A Heartfelt Commitment to Community Well-being:

In their dedicated service, Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar and Dr. Dasari Jayalalitha have endeared themselves to the local communities. Their impact is profound, with an estimated 80 percent of people in these villages recognizing their names. Such is the extent of their influence that some parents have chosen to name their children after them. Operating with compassion, they provide medical services at remarkably low costs, and in many cases, patients have been discharged without any financial burden.

The depth of the connection between the doctors and their patients is evident in the affectionate nicknames bestowed upon them. Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar is affectionately referred to as “Phani Kumar Sir Devudu,” signifying a level of respect akin to a deity. Similarly, Dr. Dasari Jayalalitha is fondly addressed as “Jayalalitha Amma,” reflecting the maternal care and compassion she extends to those under her medical care.

In the face of personal tragedy, Mr. and Mrs. Jayalalitha Phani Kumar extended their compassionate hands by providing affordable delivery services, particularly honoring the arrival of girl children. Beyond their medical practice, the couple embraced philanthropy with fervor. They generously donated funds to various beneficiaries and even sponsored a young bodybuilder, enabling them to secure victory in a world championship. This endeavor not only brought them a title but also resulted in employment in the postal department.

A Legacy of Generosity: Nurturing Education and Community Welfare-

Their commitment to education extended further as they sponsored the education of numerous underprivileged students. These charitable activities have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many, defining the couple’s legacy as not just medical practitioners but as benevolent contributors to the well-being of their community.

Medical Leadership in Service: Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar’s Tenure as Secretary and President-

Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar’s commitment to medical leadership is evident in his extensive service to the local Indian Medical Association (IMA) (https://www.ima-india.org/ima/). He assumed the role of Secretary three times, showcasing not just his dedication but the trust and confidence the association placed in him. Additionally, Dr. Phani Kumar served as the President of the Telangana Hospitals Association (THANA) (http://www.thanawarangal.com/), overseeing the combined Adilabad district. His leadership roles underscore not only his medical expertise but also his capacity to navigate and contribute to the broader healthcare landscape, ensuring the welfare of both medical professionals and the communities they serve.

Dr. Mulagalapalli Phani Kumar’s influence in the political sphere extends to close associations with key figures. His camaraderie with past MLAs, including Mr. N Diwakar Rao, Mrs. Balka Suman, Shri. D.Chinnaiah, Smt. Kova Laxmi, Mr. Aatram Sakku, and MP Shri. Venkatesh Netha, signifies a deep-rooted involvement in the political landscape. In a time when the entire nation is under lockdown due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the unwavering commitment of doctors such as Dr. Phani Kumar and Dr. Jayalalitha shines through as they proudly continue to fulfill their duty, specifically attending to emergencies. Despite the awareness that these emergencies could potentially serve as sources of the virus, these dedicated healthcare professionals persist in their efforts.

Their dedication to attending emergencies during the lockdown underscores a broader theme of commitment to public health, providing crucial medical services even in the face of a pandemic. This exemplifies the resilience and determination of healthcare professionals like Dr. Phani Kumar and Dr. Jayalalitha during these unprecedented times, as they contribute selflessly to the ongoing battle against COVID-19.

In a heartening display of gratitude, Dr. Phani Kumar, in collaboration with Midlife Hospital and Sri Rama Nursing Home, orchestrated a thoughtful gesture by distributing 200 umbrellas and 200 2-liter cool cans to the police force. This act, not only a symbol of appreciation but also a practical contribution to the well-being of those tirelessly maintaining public order, demonstrates a collective acknowledgment of the challenges faced by the police.

At this significant juncture, Dr. Phani Kumar took a moment to personally express his thanks to fellow healthcare professionals, namely Dr. Sandeep, Dr. Murthy, Dr. Chethan, Dr. Srinivas, and Dr. Kumara Swamy, who actively participated in this novel and generous initiative, highlighting the collaborative spirit within the medical community.

Extending Healthcare to the Undeserved: Free Medical Camp by Dr. Phani Kumar and Dr. Jayalalitha.

In a laudable initiative, Dr. Phani Kumar and Dr. Jayalalitha organized a free medical camp in Koutala Mandal, a remote area where access to health services is limited. Their commitment to addressing the healthcare needs of the underserved community was evident as they examined over 1000 patients during the camp. Notably, the medical team diagnosed several critical cases, showcasing the camp’s significance in identifying and addressing health issues early on.

The camp offered essential diagnostic services such as ultrasound, ECG, and various blood investigations, all provided free of cost. To further support those in need, medicines worth 1.5 lakhs were distributed at no charge, emphasizing the compassion and dedication of the medical professionals towards improving the health and well-being of the community.

IMA Mancherial Chapter’s Humanitarian Outreach: Aid for the Needy in Chennai-

In a remarkable demonstration of compassion and community service, over 100 doctors affiliated with the Indian Medical Association (IMA) of the Mancherial Chapter stepped forward to contribute generously. Their collective effort resulted in the creation of 1000 packs, each containing essential items such as a mat, a blanket, a saree, and a lungi.

The thoughtful selection of these items underscores an understanding of the diverse needs of the recipients. These packs are intended for distribution among the needy and poor residents of Chennai, representing a significant humanitarian effort to provide essential items and support to those facing economic hardships. The initiative exemplifies the positive impact that a united community of healthcare professionals can have when rallying together for the betterment of society.
