Challa Mohan Rao

Mr. Challa Mohan Rao is an Indian Politician of the BRS Party and Village Sarpanch of Tanikella of Konijerla Mandal in Khammam District, Telangana.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION:

On the 10th of March 1986, Mohan Rao was born and raised by the couple Mr. Challa Krishna and Mrs. Challa Saraswati in the Village of Tanikella in Konijerla Mandal of Khammam District in the Indian state of Telangana.

In 2000, Mohan Rao acquired his Secondary Board of Education from Zilla Parishad High School at Tanikella and completed his Intermediate Education at Spectra Junior College at Khammam in 2002.

Mr. Rao pursued higher education and graduated from Priyadharshini Degree College, Khammam, in 2005. Having been actively involved in social welfare activities since his youth, he recognized the need to serve his community and contribute to its development. This led him to join politics and serve as the Village Sarpanch of Tanikella, a position he currently holds.

As a leader, Mr. Challa Mohan Rao has been actively involved in various initiatives to promote his constituents’ welfare. He has championed causes such as healthcare, education, and sanitation and has been instrumental in implementing several development projects in the village. Through his tireless efforts, he has earned the trust and admiration of the people he serves and has become a role model for aspiring young politicians in the region.

CAREER IN POLITICS:

Involvement in Indian National Congress(INC)-

Mohan Rao, a passionate individual with a keen interest in politics, decided to join the Indian National Congress Party (INC) in 2004. His motive was to contribute towards fulfilling the political aspirations of the citizens and address the societal conflicts prevailing in the country. He felt that by becoming a part of the INC, he could actively participate in the democratic process and positively impact society.
As an Active Party Member, Mohan Rao dedicates himself wholeheartedly to the cause of the INC. He firmly believes that the party can gain better public exposure and reach more people through his efforts. He participates in every party activity and diligently carries out his responsibilities, adhering to a strict code of conduct. 
Due to his exceptional services to the community, Mohan Rao was nominated as the 14th Ward Member of Tanikella of Konijerla Mandal from the INC party during the general elections held in 2009. This election victory enabled him to take on a more active role in fulfilling his obligations toward the people and addressing their challenges. 
Mohan Rao’s journey with the INC has been enriching and fulfilling. He remains committed to serving the people through the party and strives to impact society positively.

Role and Positions in YSR Congress Party:

Mohan Rao joined the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) in 2010, a political party founded by the current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and President of YSRCP, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. 

As a committed party member, Mohan Rao has shown great enthusiasm and actively participates in all party activities. He follows a strict code of conduct and strives to enhance the party’s public image through his efforts. 

 Mohan Rao’s dedication and sincere efforts have not gone unnoticed by the party leaders. He has consistently worked for the betterment of the people and kept their welfare his top priority. Due to his unwavering commitment and hard work, he was appointed the BC Cell Mandal President of Konijerla within the YSRCP.

Mohan Rao’s efforts have been recognized and appreciated by the public, which has earned him tremendous acclaim. Through his work, he has increased the party’s support among the people, which is a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to the YSRCP.

Participation in Bharat Rashtra Samithi(BRS)-

In 2014, Mohan Rao joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), formerly the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, a political party founded by the Telangana state’s first Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao, to serve the people through politics. 

As a Leader of the BRS, Mohan Rao is deeply committed to the party’s cause. He actively participates in all its activities, carrying out his responsibilities per the party’s code of conduct and for the benefit of the people.  

He has maintained the people’s trust and confidence by prioritizing their welfare and supporting initiatives that will lead to the growth and prosperity of the party.

After fulfilling all his obligations as a party member and proving his dedication to the welfare of the people, Mohan Rao was elected as the Village Sarpanch of Tanikella in the 2019 elections. He aimed to promote vast expansion in the region and address the difficulties faced by the people.  

Mohan Rao’s unwavering ideological determination and sincere dedication to the betterment of society earned him re-election as the Village Sarpanch of Tanikella in 2022. He relentlessly worked toward the welfare of the people and fought for the community’s growth, providing invaluable service to society.  

Contested Positions:

During the local body elections in 2014, Mohan Rao contested for the MPTC position of Tanikella, but unfortunately, the position was vacated due to a minor difference in the voting percentage. Despite this setback, Mohan Rao continued to work hard and remained committed to the cause of serving the people through his political activism.

Activities Performed:

• Mohan Rao, a political figure and a resident of Tanikella village, has been actively involved in community service and political activism. In 2014, he showed his support for the WYRA constituency’s former MLA and followed the leadership of the ex-MLA to provide services to the people of the village.
• Mohan Rao’s dedication to serving the community is reflected in his active participation in various events and programs. As the village sarpanch, he celebrated the Sankranthi festival in Tanikella and distributed prizes to the winners. He also conducted youth empowerment programs and games to encourage and support young individuals.
• One of Mohan Rao’s notable contributions is his support of education for the poor people of Tanikella village. He organized various initiatives to help children access education, including providing educational support and resources to those in need.
• Mohan Rao’s commitment to community service is further exemplified through his food charity program for the poor and needy. He frequently organized this program at his own expense to ensure that people in the village had access to food.
• Besides his philanthropic endeavors, Mohan Rao strived to develop the village’s infrastructure and facilities. He worked towards developing the village’s temples, school facilities, and roads and raised funds at his own cost to achieve this. Additionally, he provided essential services such as pensions, ration card facilities, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak cheques, and Dailta Bandhu from the government to eligible candidates.

Services Provided during Covid-19

• Mohan Rao, the village sarpanch of Tanikella, played a significant role in providing essential services to the residents during the COVID-19 pandemic. His efforts were critical in ensuring the village residents had access to necessary resources and services during the challenging pandemic.
• During the COVID-19 outbreak, Mohan Rao spent ten months of his salary supporting the people of Tanikella village. He provided essential resources such as food, medicine, and other necessities to those in need. He arranged to distribute food packets, milk, and other essentials to vulnerable individuals and families in the village.
• Mohan Rao also played a crucial role in raising awareness about COVID-19 and its prevention measures. He organized awareness programs and campaigns to educate the village residents on the importance of wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and other essential steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
• Additionally, Mohan Rao worked with local authorities to set up the village’s COVID-19 testing and quarantine centers. He ensured that the residents had access to necessary medical care and facilities and arranged for transportation of the sick to the nearest hospitals.
• Mohan Rao’s dedication and selfless service to the people of Tanikella during the COVID-19 pandemic were exemplary. His efforts played a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of the village residents during the challenging time of the pandemic. Development works of Tanikella village in 3 years

• Tanikella village, located in the rural district of Andhra Pradesh, has undergone significant developmental activities in the past three years to uplift the living standards of its inhabitants. These developmental works have focused on infrastructural development, including construction of roads and culverts, as well as improvements in basic amenities.
• The construction of CC roads in Y.C Colony and Y.T Colony, costing approximately 45 lakhs and 40 lakhs respectively, has been a major success in improving the connectivity within the village. These roads have been built with high-quality materials to ensure their durability and longevity, enabling the villagers to commute easily and efficiently.
• Additionally, culverts have been constructed in Y.T Colony at a cost of approximately 6 lakhs, ensuring the smooth flow of water during the rainy season. The construction of CC Road at Imam Saheb Bazar, pending in YST Colony, has been a significant achievement that has contributed to the overall infrastructural development of the village. This road has been built at a cost of approximately 15 lakhs, ensuring that the residents can access the market area with ease.
• Furthermore, the construction of CC Road from Apparao Center to Tanku Bazar has been another notable development that has facilitated better transportation in the village. This road, built with approximately 18 lakhs, has enabled the villagers to access essential services such as healthcare and education with ease.
• Moreover, Sandalwood from Bodapatla Saidu’s house in Gangedlapadu Colony has been utilized to construct CC Road to Kausalya House, which has been a remarkable feat of sustainable development. The villagers have been actively involved in the construction process, and the usage of locally sourced materials has helped to create job opportunities for the local people.
• In addition to road construction, the village has also witnessed the construction of CC drainage in Bandi Wari Bazar, costing approximately 7 lakhs. This drainage system has been designed to ensure that the rainwater flows smoothly and does not create any waterlogging issues during monsoons.
• Furthermore, the Gram Panchayat Office Road Construction of CC Road, constructed at a cost of approximately 5 lakhs, has been instrumental in improving the connectivity to the government offices. The construction of CC road to Ramalayam Bazar, costing approximately 4 lakhs, has also facilitated better access to the religious sites in the village.
• In another significant development, the construction of CC road in Oddera Colony has been carried out with approximately 10 lakhs. This road has contributed to the betterment of the living standards of the residents, enabling them to have easy access to the necessary facilities.
• Finally, the construction of CC Road at Galibu Rama Rao Bazar, costing approximately 6 lakhs, has been another major success in improving the connectivity in the village. This road has been constructed with high-quality materials and has been designed to cater to the needs of the villagers.
• In conclusion, the developmental activities carried out in Tanikella village in the past three years have been aimed at improving the living standards of the villagers through the creation of better infrastructure and basic amenities. These activities have been instrumental in ensuring better connectivity, improved transportation, and access to essential services, thereby contributing to the overall development of the village.
• the construction of a CC drain in Shivalayam Bazar has been completed at a cost of approximately 7 lakhs. This has been a much-needed project as it will ensure that rainwater is drained away from the area, preventing any potential flooding and ensuring the safety of the residents.
• Similarly, a CC road has been constructed at Cheruvu Bazar with a budget of 7 lakhs. This project has made commuting easier and more comfortable for the residents of the area, and we hope to replicate this success in other parts of the village.
• Additionally, a CC road has also been constructed in the Ganapati Temple Bazar, providing improved connectivity and mobility to the residents. The total cost of this project was around 7 lakhs, and we believe it will significantly enhance the quality of life for the locals.
• Furthermore, the construction of a CC road in Sale Bazar has been completed with a budget of 5 lakhs. This project has facilitated smooth traffic flow and improved accessibility to the area, boosting local commerce and economic growth.
• Another significant project that has been undertaken is the construction of an asphalt road from Tanikella to Ganeswaram, a much-awaited project that has been pending for a long time. The total cost of this project was about 3.5 crores, and it will provide a much-needed boost to the transportation infrastructure in the area.
• To ensure the safety and security of the residents, LED lights have been installed throughout the village, providing continuous illumination even during the night. This project has been completed successfully, and we believe it will go a long way in making our village safer and more secure.
• In addition to these projects, a Toli Rythu Vedika has been constructed in the Khammam district, with a budget of approximately 25 lakhs. This is a significant project as it will provide a common platform for the farmers in the area to exchange ideas and learn from one another.
• Furthermore, a Vaikuntha Dham, Dumping Yard, and Village Nature Park have been constructed in our village, providing much-needed green space and recreational areas for the residents. These projects have been completed with careful planning and attention to detail, ensuring that they are environmentally friendly and sustainable.
• To improve the living conditions of the residents in the Old Oddera Colony, repairs and construction of earthworks and hand pumps have been carried out. These projects have been completed successfully, and we believe they will go a long way in improving the quality of life of the locals.
• Sanitation works worth approximately 1 crore rupees have been completed in the last three years, ensuring that the village is clean and hygienic. These projects have included moving, bleaching, drainage, mulching, and mosquito repellent, ensuring that the residents are protected from any potential health hazards.
• The Gram Panchayat building has also been modernized with a budget of approximately 3.5 lakhs. This project has been completed successfully, and we believe it will provide a more comfortable and efficient workspace for the elected officials.
• Garbage collection has been improved significantly, with garbage being collected every three days and closely supervised to ensure that the village remains clean and hygienic. This project has been completed with great care and attention to detail, and we believe it will go a long way in improving the living conditions of the residents.
• One of the most important initiatives that has been undertaken in this regard is the regular collection and disposal of garbage, which is done every three days with close supervision. This has been an essential part of maintaining the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the village, and has helped to reduce the risk of disease transmission.
• In addition to garbage collection, a range of other measures have been taken to promote environmental health and sanitation. These include moving and bleaching, which are used to clean and disinfect areas that are particularly prone to the buildup of dirt and grime. Drainage systems have also been put in place to ensure that water does not accumulate and become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and other pests.
• Mulching and mosquito repellent measures have also been employed to keep the village free from pests and to maintain a healthy environment. These measures have proven to be highly effective in preventing the spread of disease and infection, and have helped to ensure that the village remains a safe and healthy place to live.
• Another key aspect of the development activities that have been undertaken in the village is the planting of green plants. This initiative has been carried out with the help of around three lakhs, and has been aimed at enhancing the overall aesthetics of the village while also promoting environmental health.
• Even in the face of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the village has continued to prioritize the health and safety of its inhabitants. This is evidenced by the fact that an isolation center was set up in the government school, which was closely guarded and praised by district authorities. This demonstrates a strong commitment to public health and safety, even in the most difficult of circumstances.
• In addition to these measures, significant resources have been devoted to the removal of gravel from the village. This has been an important part of ensuring that the environment remains clean and healthy, and has been carried out with the help of around 20 lakhs.
• To further promote environmental health and sanitation, Kalva drains have been constructed wherever necessary to prevent the accumulation of water in the village. This has helped to prevent the spread of disease and infection, and has made the village a safer and healthier place to live.
• All of these development activities have been carried out through the joint efforts of the ruling class and sanitation workers. This partnership has been instrumental in ensuring that the village remains clean, healthy, and safe for all its inhabitants.

• The construction of Kalva drains has also had important economic benefits, by preventing flooding and water damage that can be costly and disruptive for local businesses and homeowners. This has helped to ensure that the village remains a prosperous and thriving community, with a strong and vibrant economy.
• The joint efforts of the ruling class and sanitation workers have resulted in a tangible improvement in the quality of life for our citizens. These developmental initiatives have helped to create jobs, improve access to essential services, and promote economic growth.
