Biplab Kumar Deb

Biplab Kumar Deb is the current Chief Minister of Tripura. He was born on 25-09-1971 to Hirudhan Deb in Rajdhar Nagar village. He graduated with a B.A from Tripura University in 1999. Biplab married Niti Deb she was the Deputy Manager of the State Bank of India.

An interesting fact about Deb is that he worked as a Gym Instructor in Delhi when he had moved to the national capital for higher studies. He had worked as an Assistant to Ganesh Singh, a BJP MP from Madhya Pradesh.

He started his political journey with the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP). He was a former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) volunteer. He considers Narendra Modi as his political guru.

Biplab Kumar Deb was selected as State In-charge of Tripura from the BJP. He has been the State President of the Bharatiya Janata Party since 2016. He began his election campaign from the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council in 2018.

He contested as Member of Legislative Assembly(MLA) from Banamalipur Constituency in Agartala and won by a margin of 9,549 votes, which was held by Indian National Congress MLA Gopal Roy. Deb led Tripura’s Election campaign and successfully defeated Left Front after 25 years by winning 44 seats with his ally Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura out of possibly 60 seats in Tripura. He took his oath as the 10th Chief Minister of Tripura on 9-March-2018.

Biplab Deb campaigned on the subject of Youth Employment Opportunities, which he promised to improve if elected Chief Minister of Tripura. He also promised the employees of Tripura that he would implement the 7th Pay Commission once get elected. Deb brought in key BJP ministers from across India to campaign for the party in Tripura.
