He started his political journey with the TDP(Telugu Desam Party). Ashok worked as an Active Member of TDP in Kaviti. From 2014-2019, Ashok served as an MLA from TDP in Ichchapuram.

In 2019, He working as MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) from Telugu Desam Party in Ichchapuram Constituency.
