From my early days in student leadership with the National Students’ Union of India to my role as MLA for Alair Constituency, my journey has been guided by a deep commitment to serving others. My work began as a College Secretary, where I focused on improving student life. This dedication led me to political roles where I advocated for better infrastructure, healthcare, and education. My grassroots efforts, from local body elections to my leadership in the Youth Congress Party, have always centered around addressing the needs of the people and fostering community development.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I dedicated myself to supporting those hit hardest by the crisis. I provided financial aid, distributed essential supplies like face masks and meals, and organized vaccination drives to ensure public health. My proactive measures included disinfecting communities and aiding those in severe need. This period underscored my commitment to humanitarian values and solidified my role as a responsive and compassionate leader.
Through the Beerla Foundation, I have continued my mission to uplift marginalized communities. By offering financial support, organizing skill development programs, and addressing various social issues, my foundation works to alleviate poverty and empower individuals. My initiatives also extend to providing educational resources, healthcare support, and other vital assistance to those in need.

During his early life and education, Beerla Ilaiah pursued his academic journey and embarked on a formal and professional political career. It all began when he joined the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Indian National Congress (INC), commonly known as the Congress Party. His primary objective within the NSUI was to address the concerns and issues faced by students. Ilaiah’s active involvement in student affairs and dedication to addressing their concerns quickly garnered his attention and respect.
Ilaiah’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of students and the general public earned him recognition and trust. This trust propelled him into the role of College Secretary at SLNS Degree College in Bhongir. His election to this position was a testament to his exceptional service to the people and his remarkable ability to solve their problems. As college secretary, Ilaiah focused on improving student facilities, organizing academic and cultural events, addressing grievances, and building a strong rapport with the student community.
In 2006, during the local body elections, Ilaiah sought election as the Village Sarpanch of Saidapur under the banner of the INC Party. His campaign focused on immediate improvements for the well-being of the people and initiatives that would contribute to expanding the party’s influence. Ilaiah promised better infrastructure, access to clean drinking water, and improved healthcare facilities. His grassroots campaign, which included door-to-door visits and public meetings, resonated with the villagers, leading to his victory as Sarpanch.
Building upon his previous successes, Ilaiah assumed the position of Mandal President of Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri in 2008, representing the INC. - Beerla Ilaiah expressed his unequivocal support for the ongoing indefinite strike by the Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs) in the Yadagirigutta Mandal center. He sternly warned the government authorities, emphasizing the urgent need to address and resolve the VRAs’ legitimate demands.
- In a resolute display of dissent, Beerla Ilaiah staged a dharna (sit-in protest) at the heart of Yadadri town centre. This protest was initiated in response to the Central and State Governments’ stance on price hikes, which has garnered significant attention and concern. As per the call of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Beerla Ilaiah vehemently voiced his opposition and, in a symbolic act, burnt an effigy of Prime Minister Modi, unequivocally demanding a reduction in the escalated prices.
- When Mrs Sonia Gandhi, the Congress Party President, was en route to the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) office for an investigation, she took a bold stand against the alleged conspiracies orchestrated by the central government. Mrs Gandhi chose the statue of Indiramma on Necklace Road in Hyderabad as the platform to express her protest. Beerla Ilaiah joined forces with TPCC President Revanth Reddy and other prominent Telangana Congress leaders to participate in the protest rally and dharna until Mrs Gandhi arrived at the ED’s office.
- In a concerted effort driven by TPCC President Revanth Reddy, Bhuvanagiri Member of Parliament Komati Reddy, and Beerla Ilaiah, the Congress party leaders and activists representing the Alair Constituency undertook a symbolic act of burning an effigy of Prime Minister Modi. This act served as a powerful means to express their discontent and vehemently oppose the ED’s inquiry against Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi.

- The arrest of auto workers who have been peacefully agitating for the past 90 days to allow autos up Yadagirigutta can be deemed criminal. Taking a firm stand, Alair Congress Party Incharge Varga Ilaiah demanded the immediate release of the detainees and urged for their just treatment in light of the situation.
