AA Raju(Arji Appala Raju)

Arji Appala Raju is the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation Town Committee Secretary in Andhra Pradesh from the political Party TDP.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION:

Raju was born in Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh on 28th January 1979 to the couple Mr.&Mrs. Arji Somaraju and Laxmi.

Raju acquired his Secondary Board of Education in 1995 from Zilla Parishad High School located at Chittivalasa in Visakhapatnam District. In 1997, Raju obtained his undergraduate degree at PUC a two years course at Andhra University.

He attained his graduation with Bachelor of Commerce(B.Com)Course in 2000 from S.V.L.N.S. Government Degree College at Bheemunipatnam in Bheemili, Visakhapatnam and he extended his education with the Post Graduation from MRVRGR Law College affiliated to AU Visakhapatnam situated in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh in the year 2015.

EARLY POLITICAL CAREER:

He has been very accustomed to political traits since childhood. He fights in the forefront to bring justice to the people. So even in college he would stand by every single student and be their companion.

While pursuing his graduation, Raju began his Political Career in 1998 by participating in an election campaign conducted at Degree college and was elected with the position of College Secretary of S.V.L.N.S Degree College and provided services to bring a solution to the problems faced by students in College.

On the one hand, he is continuing his education and on the other, he is desperately fulfilling his responsibilities as the Secretary for the Degree College.

He stood by the students and gave courage to the students by solving every problem. In the year 1999, his modesty further enhanced his responsibilities as College President for his services to students.

In addition to his primary responsibilities, Raju contested for the Chairman of S.V.L.N.S Degree College in 200 but the honorable position was lost.

PROFESSIONAL LIFE:

On the continuation of his education, Raju began his Professional Career by setting up a business of his own in the field of textiles by naming Tirumala Textiles, and ever since he started the business he simultaneously handling his family responsibilities.

CAREER IN POLITICS:

In the year 2000, in the presence of former Union Minister and Politburo Member Ashok Gajapati Raju, Raju joined active politics through the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) which was founded by N.T. Rama Rao and headed by N. Chandrababu Naidu-the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

He exposed his leadership skills by serving the Party and working comprehensively all the time for the welfare of humankind.

His dedication to work and his involvement in every activity earned him the honorary status of Telugu Yuvata President of Vizianagaram Town for 37th Division in 2002 to serve the people with utmost dedication by resolving issues till 2004.

He extended his service and work by accepting the respectable position of 37th Division Vice-President in 2006 for Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh from TDP by further enhancing his responsibilities so that he could stay closer to the people and monitor their well-being every moment.

His constant attention and pure service led to his promotion to the 37th Division President of Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh in 2015 from TDP to promote the proper focus towards the need for effective and comprehensive expansion in people by doing his part to overcome the hardships faced by the people.

He earned the people’s admiration by holding out the commitments, obligations, and powers assigned to him. As a result, he was honored as the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation Town Committee Secretary in 2022. He has served many people through his kind heart by carrying out the tasks assigned to him and earning the people’s responses.

As an Andhra Pradesh Activist:

Raju was an Andhra Pradesh Activist, He Participated in the Samaikyandhra Movement to prevent the division of the state – separating the Telangana districts of the state into a separate Telangana state by providing intellectual support.

He participated in many social Programs and was involved in Million March, and many more dharnas and rallies were held in continuous movement to prevent the separation of Andhra Pradesh State.

During his active participation in the SamaKyandhra movement, Raju also moved to jail for few days as part of the movement.

FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF RAILWAY GATE AT 37TH DIVISION:

In 2010, a hunger strike was organized on the orders of TDP leaders to set up a railway gate in the 37th Division and a signature collection drive was conducted for the construction of the railway gate and signatures were collected by all.

As a result of their efforts, there was a positive response from the government for the construction of the railway gate in 2016, and the government-sanctioned that the construction could continue.

PARTY ACTIVITIES:

• Every criticism is leveled at the leaders of other parties, not just the TDP leaders but the TDP party. A lot of work is being done to keep the TDP party at a high level without compromising the decency of the party anywhere.
• He has been constantly fighting against anti-people decisions of the central and state governments and has staged many protests and dharnas.
• Raju expressed that the effort would be possible only with the TDP party for the development of Dalits, minorities, the poor, and the minorities in the society.
• He is in complete opposition to the state government repealing new agricultural laws and other beneficial elements that will serve the survival of farmers.
• He was briefing the people on the welfare schemes introduced by the government for the upliftment of the backward classes through a mobilization Program.
• An awareness seminar was organized on behalf of the party in the village and the zone to brief the people on the Chandranna welfare schemes and pamphlets were distributed to give them brief information.
• Many District level and State level party development programs were carried out in the village for the growth of the party.
• There were hunger strikes and dharnas held by conveying that the decision of the three capitals was the decision of the Tughlaq.
• Efforts will be made to strengthen the party at the district level. Raju has lashed out at the Jagan government for pushing the state into a debt trap.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:-

• He Undertook development programs through the Party Fund for the Development of Slum Areas in the Village.
• He carries out his responsibilities while looking after the welfare of the people living in the village and zone by clearing the issues related to Water, Drinages, and every minute problem to the individual.
• Raju strengthened his support by offering a set sum for the well-being of destitute people who have been severely affected by the assassination of their families.
• With the help of TTD funds, Temples were built to worship God all over the district. He is on the path of development by providing his share of financial assistance for the renovation and reconstruction of temples.
• Every year a blood donation camp and a medical camp are set up in the colony and medicines are provided free of cost to those in need.
• The movement to set up a new building for the new Majjipeta Municipality school continued and a new school was set up for the students at once.

SERVICES RENDERED DURING THE PANDEMIC COVID-19:-

• During the first and second waves of Corona, Raju assisted those who were affected by the lockdown by offering financial and humanitarian aid.
• Raju moved forward with humanity to assist people in distress during the corona and to provide additional aid to those affected by the lockdown.
• He apportioned Masks, Sanitizers, and food to the poor and also contributed to them financially.
• He is indeed available, notably to the zone’s poorest inhabitants. At the hospital, Raju also began offering masks and sanitizers to men suffering from corona deprivation symptoms.
• Raju conducted a Corona Virus awareness program and provided specific precautions to avoid the dreadful virus.
• For families who do not even have the essentials to eat at home in the corona-infected quarantine distributed essentials along with the corona tablets for them.
• When people died with Corona and family members and villagers feared that no one would come forward, Raju came and conducted the funeral following Hindu tradition.
